    Hi Thomas!

It's so refreshing to read of a 'success story' such as yours.

Just wondering whether it's because the antihistamines work to reduce inflammation and in your case (and who knows if it would in others'wink that also acted upon the inflammation in your colon?

Can you be good enough to let us know which antihistamine you were prescribed; that would be helpful.

Fingers crossed that the remission lasts for a long time.

Will you kindly keep us posted of any developments?

With kindest regards and all good wishes,

    Peter

It was fluxofenadine, it can’t be a couincidence 100% because I been suffering for 2 years , no medication working that great... soon as I popped that first tablet I woke up instantly feeling better. As armelle67759ncommented below it happen to her on same antihistamine.

i ring my doctor and had a conversation with her, she hasn’t heard of it helping colitis. I really think it can Ben a brake through if scientists study this.

Antihistamine are far less dangerous then steroids and other medications on the market for UC/C.

its helped me so much I really need people to know and let their doctors know. If this helps even one person it will make me so happy.

      Hi Thomas!

Thank you so much for your response.

It's absolutely marvellous that this has had such a dramatic effect on your symptoms, and your colitic wellbeing.

I wish you from the bottom of my heart continued relief from the horrible effects of this wretched complaint.

      Keep well!!

Well. This is really a coincidence. I had a rash in 2013 and was given fluxofenadine. I was diagnosed with UC last year and i felt this rash coming back last week. I asked the nurse for a prescription. I feel better, more energy and no blood. So that’s 2 of us. I believe there is some research on rats but there is definitely a link.

have you been in a flare since 2013? How are you in 2018?

I, willing the let them do research on me if it helps. 😂haha.

But seriously within one week on fluxofenadine im completely in remission

and I take them all summer now cause my hayfever gets bad living around green land.

so hopefully no symptoms ever come back hehe

I’ve not been well since 2012. Gastro said it was IBS. Tried all sorts of diets to no avail. 2013 the horrible rash called idiopathic urticaria. The immuniologist mentioned T cells and gave me Fexofenadine. The rash went but i’ve Had other auto immune diseases. Lichen planus  and now my thyroid is a bit hyper. Then diagnosed with UC but mild . So they say. Was put on anti depressants but I knew it wasn’t anxiety. Anyway was sneezing a lot when poorly so looked up Fexofenadine. I asked the nurse for a prescription. Told her the rash was coming back. I don’t feel as tired and my bms are normal. It can’t be a coincidence. My gastro said my UC doesn’t behave normally. I don’t have diarrhoea, only blood , exhaustion and dizziness. So after a week on the pills I feel well. May it continues

Well, I took Fexofenadine for a month but was also taking some a herbal tincture. I felt well but as soon as I finished the herbs, my symptoms reappeared. What a shame. I thought I was on to something there.
