WOuld the fact that I get a good nights sleep, without any chest pains and flutter be a good indication what I experience during the day in my chest is all anxiety. I don't have anything during the night then I wake up and it starts again!

    Hi

Yes Im the same....as soon as I go to bed and relax the anxiety subsides and I am able to get a decent nights sleep. I am fine when I wake up and then anxiety kicks in from about 9.30am until around 8pm...then I start feeling relaxed again. I keep telling myself that if it was a heart problem it wouldnt have its own time schedule. Also as I have suffered from anxiety for over 24 years, a heart problem would have been picked up by now. However anxiety has a mind of its own and thats not enough to stop the anxiety. It just finds another ache or pain or symptom to focus on instead. Its a vicious circle!

I sit on my desk at work with my right arm on keyboard/mouse duty then my left arm is crossed and it's constantly checking my heartbeat. And it's tensed. I don't think that is doing me any favours. That's what causing the pains. I hope. Yeah I have been fully ok'd but that's six months ago so I'm worried again. when I'm at my worst I literally feel like a heart attack is seconds away. It's horrendously scary isn't it. I have Heath anxiety but I'm controlling every other illness I think I have except from the heart. I can't control that unfortunately

I wonder why people, like us, with health anxiety, focus on the heart. Ive read so many posts where people have exactly the same fears and symptoms...checking heartbeat, palpitations, feeling as though heart will stop etc etc...its scary! Its no wonder we are so anxious. If I focus on something else or keep busy I dont focus on my heart and am symptom free but as soon as I sit down there it is again. It seems to be more common than we think! That at least is reassuring in a way I suppose.
