I was on 50mg for 1 month then a couple of weeks ago I was upped to 100mg. I feel like I've slipped back a bit. Side effects haven't been too bad. I'm going to give it another 2 weeks and see if any improvement.

When I started on 50mg the first few days I felt sick, no appetite, and struggled to sleep on some nights not all. I felt in some situations the tablets were helping as I felt more at ease in conversations, and the silly worries went. I felt like I was able to cope in everyday activities a lot better for example going the shops. I felt more confident in myself too. I did generally feel happier so I was pleased thinking it can only get better from here. However, since being on 100mg I feel like this has slipped a bit. I'm trying to convince myself it takes time for the higher dose to settle in my system. I am going back the doctors in about 2 weeks time. My doctor did say when I first started on them you might feel worse before you start to feel better and thats a good thing as it shows the drug is working. Anxiety is awful I really hope you start to feel better.

I suppose I felt like I wasn't back to my normal self even though I could feel it working if that makes sense. Maybe I should have stayed on 50mg to give it more time. I suppose it was desperation as I just want to feel completely normal again!

Definitely eased but I can still feel it is there. I am far better off after starting but still a long way to go.

I was on 150mg but not getting much sleep.  Go to bed exhausted but lie awake until gone 2  in the morning and then have to get up at 6 for work.   Went on for months so doctor tried to swap me to another antidepressant that has a mild sedative effect.  I had to drop my sertraline to enable me to to make the change so got down to 75mg and tried the new prescription.  I could not function the following g day and decided for that point I was never going too try them again.  I have since kept my dose down on the sertraline and my sleeping has improved enormously.  I am all taking a good multi vitamin with magnesium in after a tip off from a friend who had also had the same issue.  2 months on I feel a lot better and I am looking to reduce my sertraline further.  Sleeping has improved which in turn has reduced my anxiety a lot.  Hope this helps 😊

How long have you been on sertraline and wot strenght as like said im on 150 mg i think most of the time is it worth going to bed as only sleep for short time

I’ve been on sertraline for 6 years.  I started on 25 mg and over the years have ended up on 150 mg.  I have got myself down to 75mg and feel so much better.  I am not against them at all because I wouldn’t have got here with out them.  But I would say now that I have lowered my dosage all my sleep issues have gone and I feel more alert and focus than I have in years.  I am determined to wean my self off now as I don’t think i need them.  Half the battle is dealing with the withdrawal.  Sleep depreciation is the worst and it definitely effects your mood and anxiety levels.  I went from 150 down to 100 for a week then down to 75 mg.  I felt dizzy and had buzzing sensations for a few weeks but that has now passed.  Magnesium is good for calming the mind and stopping racing thoughts. Worth a go but was advised by 5he doctor to take as part of a multi vitamin.
