Anxiety about starting a new job

Does anyone have anxiety about starting a new job?. I have been looking for a new job for ages, finally found one I like , got offered the job and then started to panic about the change from a job I am used to although not keen on, and couldnt go through with it. Had a horrible wave anxiety that took over me and ended up declining it.

I am not too bad when i start a new job, but i very quickly start worrying incase people dont like me or think im stupid or talk about me behind my back. I also find it really hard finding a balance between sticking up for myself, and not getting taken advantage of because i am kind natured and when to just shut up and get on with it because its not worth the hassle to complain..... This has followed me around in all my jobs for 30 years now!!!!

I started a new job in August and I had a month of anxiety before. I had lots of worries like not being able to do the work etc and to be honest I still it but the anxiety I experienced at the beginning has really reduced.

I know its too late  for me as I turned the job down due to my anxiety taking over me, and have decided to stay at my current job for now. I wish I could stop this anxiety about change taking over me as have missed out on a potentially great job.
