Anxiety about swallowing

hi i have health anxiety and have been taking citalopram for 3 months which has helped a bit but certainly not got rid of it. my latest issue is anxiety about swallowing. started off with feeling like things kept getting stuck in my throat and the other night i had a panic attack as i felt like i couldnt swallow - ie tried to but couldnt. im now feeling very anxious and fearful and i cant eat because i fear it will happen again. Has anyone else had this? And is it just anxiety?

Hi. I'm getting this too! On what you exactly describe it, this has been happening to me for days now which is scary and yes it could be mostly anxiety causing this but if you're still worried please talk to your doctor and see why you feel like that. Could be throat tension since I have that and I have difficulty swallowing also sometimes breathing. This is happening to me now. Anxiety causes many different symptoms and I hope you feel better soon.

Hey, I hope everything is okay with you. You're free to message me in private and give me updates about this since I'm going through the same exact symptoms as you. I know it's annoying and terrifying, but you're not alone. I'm dealing with this too and I try not to panic too much about it since stressing just makes it even more worse where it feels like I might suffocate and die. And no I haven't seen my doctor yet. I'm scheduling though to go see him and figure out what it is. But I'm pretty sure it's anxiety and I have been stressed out a lot so I wouldn't be surprised if this feeling is caused by anxiety.
