Anxiety Adrenaline Surge at night

Hey guys I've had anxiety for the past two and a half months I'm having all manner of symptoms including headaches and chest pains but one of the worst symptoms being when I go to bed and almost drifting off to sleep I get a surge in the head that wakes me up. Is anybody else experiencing this? This is happening every night and it's becoming very tiresome obviously. Currently on zopiclone to make me go to sleep but don't want to stay on it does anybody have any recommendations?

Yes, I do get that and it has gotten much better as I take a hot bath then do a mindfulness meditation before bed seems to help me

This has happened to me a few times!!! I had no idea what it was from. I thought I was going crazy. I call them brain zaps, when I try to fall asleep when I have a lot of anxiety I get “waves” of brain zaps and they actually kinda hurt. I noticed that when I took a PM med that is supposed to help u feel sleepy I’d get them. Could be a side effect, also I know if I have bad anxiety and I’m forcing myself to go to bed I’ll get them. Most of the time I tell myself I don’t care anymore and I just lay there and ignore it (which is really hard) but edventually it stops.

Yes! Usually my heart is pounding and I can feel it in my neck and back. I’m sorry to hear you go through this as well. I hope we both can get better (: when I was young it started and it went away or wasn’t as bad but now it has resurfaced and I’m not 100% sure why. I had a very bad panic attack on New Years and ever since then I’ve been afraid of death! So I think it all arises from that.

Not every night but I have sleep problems every night. Like night terror type things and I have vivid dreams and hear stuff when I'm trying to sleep
