Anxiety affecting my eating and daily activities

growing up I've always been really shy and thought this would fade as i grew older. However, this isn't the case as it just resulted in me being really anxious and getting worse. For the past year or so I've had a bad relationship with food which only my boyfriend is aware of, often eating as little as one meal a day. I recently moved to university and thought everything would improve , however my anxiety is even worse and i am on edge constantly . Ill try to avoid people in my flat despite knowing them and going out with them before . its at the point where i wont go to the kitchen to eat in case i bump into someone and I'm just really struggling with everything . I don't leave the flat unless my boyfriend is here just out if the fear of going alone and i just have no idea what to do . I do want to get help for everything regarding mg mental health but I'm just too scared to go to the doctors after previously having bad experiences there. i just feel very alone and isolated when I'm here and I'm unsure on what i can do.

i’m really sorry you are going through this Nicole. I know what it feels like because the same thing happened to me when I was away at school. It’s a horrible feeling. I have avoided people since grade school due to social anxiety and . Extreme shyness actually more like a crippling shyness for me.

You need some support right now. You don’t necessarily have to go to your doctors for this. And what I did was have some counseling virtually so that I didn’t have to go anywhere. It works Great and I actually look forward to it!

you could also speak with a counselor at University.

You don’t have to feel alone while you are going through this. it really helps to vent to somebody who can help. I do hope you can get some support very soon. Push yourself a little bit to get it! You’ll be glad you did. Take care
