Anxiety affecting vision

Hi, does anyone else suffer from a feeling of "drunkenness" and hard to focus / spacey feeling ? I think it's connected to my chronic health anxiety making my ms symptoms heightened plus I struggle in bright lights. I've had my vision checked ( short sighted anyway ) plus feeling really low and crying 2 or 3 times a day ( yes I'm on antidepressants and see my doc on a regular basis ) any help or advice ?

Yes anxiety effects vision. And gives tons of headaches which is annoying because the nsaids cause more issues then the headaches. Some medication cause issues as well. Its a double edge sword.

meditation, yoga, accupressure/accuouncture, theraoy and deep breathing. Sounds simole but it takes a lot of focus and time. People mock meditatiin and some cant properly do it but it is prooven very useful once it works. Mindful exercises i personally like.

Thanks for replying, yes I get tension headaches on a nearly daily basis feels like it's around my eyes or back of eyes like eye strain too can this all be down to anxiety? I'm even crying as I type..

I do meditation mainly when I go to sleep and i also do water reiki which helps and massages but closed at present coz of holidays

It's funny I posted issues with vision at about the same time as you. I have vison issues as well lights and focusing. I get the headaches behind my eyes but not daily. The vision has been 24/7 for months. My eye doctor says my eyes are fine and my GP says it is anxiety. Really hard to believe though.

      Wish you well.

Street lights, store lights and lights behind people make my vision a mess. Even the brightness of the TV can get weird sometimes.

I see thanks for your reply.

Has anyone suggested that it may be due to migraine?

I have tinted glasses which cut out a lot of glare and decreases my visual problems.

      Thanks willy,

So does it feel like eye strain/ tired eyes and tension behind and around the eye sockets ? I've had the headaches daily apart from a few days for around 8/9 weeks., neuro says it's chronic tension headaches because of my anxiety x

Oh yes ! Sharon i do. I know its anxiety because when i had bad anxiety in Sept, i experienced it then. By mid Oct i was fine as anxiety had cleared. I have health anxiety and in dec i had an op, and during recovery the anxiety came back and so did the focus problem and balance etc etc etc you know what its like 😊

Do as many coping skills as you can , get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids.

Good luck and i hope the anx calms down soon xx

Thanks gill for your reply. I'm not glad that it's happening to others. But glad I'm not on my own. It really gets to me and trying my best not to google everything ! But it does worry me with the headaches around the eyes ( tension and eye strain I think ) my neuro is sending me for another MRI ( I had one in Sep as have yearly ones due to ms) but he says he is only doing this to help my anxiety and worry and doesn't think it's anything sinister.. so you would think I would be satisfied with his opinion but try telling my stupid brain that :-(

Really glad you got through it and gives me hope too so thank you

Sharon I'm struggling with cousin right now. I can't focus on things and feel like I'm drunk. Also suffer with daily headaches and eye floaters. I'll only not have this when I'm worried about my heart. It's horrible cycle. Headaches are so bad. I have health anxiety too. I think this is depersonalisation isn't it?

Thanks joe I really appreciate your reply, glad I'm not going mad but it's so frustrating and just want to go back to how I was before all this started.. the headaches really do get you down don't they! And you will know all about health anxiety too.. always finding something to worry about as if dealing with your heart issues or me dealing with ms isn't bad enough.. x
