Anxiety and acid reglux

Does anyone else suffer with constant acid reflux with their anxiety? I have had it for 4 weeks now and although it has improved, I have this annoying feeling in my chest and top of my back. I've had it many times before but I just wondered if anyone else out there gets this.

yes it’s very common with anxiety and stress. I have had it and I also have had gastritis which is also a result of stress and anxiety. are you taking medication for it? If not talk to your doctor because it can provide you with relief. you can help stop that feeling in your back and trust. Many people have had it.

you want to be sure to eat the right foods so that you can manage this better. You need to stay away from acid producing foods such as junk food, pop, a lot of red meat, most dairy foods including cheese. You can find this list online. Foods that are good to eat would be vegetables and most fruits, lean chicken etc. When you eat, eat it slowly and don’t eat large portions. It’s better to have several small portions of food throughout the day. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

like I said, you can discuss this with your doctor for more details and possible medication. Sometimes the nurse at the doctors office will talk to you over the phone. Take care

There are many over the counter meds available for your condition. Ask your pharmacist. If it does not help consult a dietition or nutritionist for a proper diet.

Hi sam , anxiety can cause gastritis and vise versa .. Try eating just fruits and green leafy veggies a while , no coffee or sodas .. Also eat cottage cheese and turkey also chicken . Google the gastritis foods list . Have you had your vitamin D levels checked ? Low levels can also cause anxiety and stomach issues .. My best to you
