Anxiety and antidepressants

I understand antidepressants help some people, but for me, they have either helped very little or not at all. I have tried three different kinds. I was wondering, has anyone tried a few antidepressants that didn’t work and trying a new one suddenly worked? Also, for anyone who has had an antidepressant work for them, about much do they actually help? Did it eliminate 5% of your anxiety? 20%, 50%, 100%?

I have tried antidepressants but could never manage the side effects. In a new job now and can't risk being off trying them. For me, they just replaced one problem with a different set.

I take propranolol and I can manage on that fine. That stops maybe 70% of my panic symptoms which in turn calms my mind and body.

I have Been on anti depressants twice so far

When I was 17 and just last year (regret coming off them) both times they worked differently because both times my anxiety had manifested into different forms , ie first was social anxiety and depression , last year was generalised anxiety and panic and ocd - the first time the medication worked about 80% but alowed me to gain control of my thoughts which helped me with the 20% to make me feel 100 If that makes sense ! Last year they helped definitely 95% !!
