Anxiety and constant stomach pain

I am new to this forum, and would like any advise please? I have been suffering with anxiety for a number of months, which seemed to have come on after being diagnosed with a bacteria infection in my gut and also a stressful event in my life last year, plus tCOVID is not helping. I am now anxious about everything and even leaving the house is a major task. I also have a constant pain in my stomach which makes me feel sick and suffer with IBS. I am currently taking 40mg of propranolol twice a day and recently started (a week) on 25mg of sertraline, plus my medication for IBS. Could the pain in stomach that seems to increase the anxiety be a side effect of the medication?

anything is possible but usually medication’s for anxiety don’t cause pain but more like stomach upset or nausea in the first couple weeks. Some people don’t experience anything but others do.The medication for IBS should be helping any pain instead of causing it. However I’m not sure what all of the side effects are for that medication.
have you ever been checked out for gastritis? With all the years of my anxiety, it finally caught up to me and it caused me to have gastritis which is an inflammation of the stomach lining and it’s very painful. if what you are talking about is actual stomach pain versus intestinal pain it could be something like that.
the main thing right now is trying to bring down the anxiety because that will flare up symptoms of IBS, or anything else that’s going on. There is a very strong connection between the brain and the gastrointestinal tract so that’s why it’s important to relax your mind. See if you can speak with somebody such as a counselor who can help you with this. Hope you feel better

thanks. im currently waiting to see the gastro department in hospital which will hopefully identify this. Been told today that it could be from GERD and been given lansoprazole to help. Fingers crossed it helps and my anxiety medication help.
