Anxiety and high cholesterol

Hey y'all! So I've had Anxiety for 3months now n I've had TONS of symtoms! All of them horrible and they keep changing, right now it's muscle n joint pain along with a buzzing in my head.

Gave blood few days ago n they sent me an email with my cholesterol results. Apparently 257 is very high so now I'm freaked out over everything I eat! I'm only 28 so I don't want hypertension or heart disease!

Does anyone know if high anxiety can affect your cholesterol level? I Googled it n some people say it can.

    That is a good question! I think anything the media or a doctor tella you is bad will cause anxiety. People with anxiety over time will produce more cholesterol as some kind of measure to protect the body. As oddly as that sounds. I read that. Cholesterol is produced in the liver. I Believe. Anyway dont believe that. Cholesterol can be lowered through medicine and diet. And what is your ldl number. Its not just one number you rely in its a ratio. You dont need to freak out over everything you eat. You need to call your doctor and find out whats the deal with your cholesterol. You will need a different lifestyle of eating and exercising. 257 isnt very high. Its not good but 200 is exceptsble but again it is a ration so its the ldl that ends up the decision maker on good or bad.  Go see your doctor.

      Thank you I think it's 257ml/DL or something like that. WI'll have to double check

      Haha no ..there are three broken down categories. Ldl, hdl, and some others i dont remember. Then there is a ratio. The ratio is the determination. You need to go your own doctor now and get new bloodtests and let him deciede your treatment. Sometimes cholesterol can be familial as well. Run in families. I would not trust some blood bank to tell me this.

      I will take your advice and let a doctor run a proper test.......and explain it to me also.

    Anxieties can cause a lot of problems with the body. It can cause high blood pressure. diabetes, cholesterol problems, digestive issues, hands going numb or tingling, muscle tightness. 

    It hard to relieve anxieties even everyday ones. We need to learn to slow down and meditate, relax and reduce our anxieties by not worring for one. 

    You are young exercise and eating fish and lean chicken will help fruits and vegatables will help lower it. Do not eat fried foods if your choloesterol is high 

    Fiber can help lower it and so can fish oil 

    Have you ever thought about meds for you anxieties talk to your doctor about it

    bad diet is more likely to affect your cholesterol ie too much fat so avoid cheese especially if you need to cut down as well as fatty foods of course.
