Anxiety and hyperventilation - Medications

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi there, I am on my first week of 100mg of Serezone for anxiety. .5, .5 mg of clonapin also to keep my hyperventilation down.

Does anyone have any experience with how long this will take to stop the hyperventilation attacks?

Anyone used Serzone? How long does it take to start working?

Thanks

Hello I suffer the same hyperventilating from anxiety do you feel like you can't take a deep breath so you try even More until you get the satisfying feeling ?

I've been told it's caused by overbreathing my gp has started me on sertraline 50mg 7th day today  and the side effects are awful I wake up with wht feels like a wave of tingling/adrenaline in my legs belly and chest have you tried diazepam for the hyperventilating

I haven’t tried anything but Clonopin definitely works I just don’t want to start taking a bunch of it for the next couple months. The Serzone  is like an SSRI for long term. That should help me in the long run. Hyperventilation totally sucks. I notice if I concentrate on my slow breathing makes it worse. If I just relax my stomach is starting to help. I have read all kinds of things about hyperventilation and nothing really seems to work other than forgetting about it as much as possible. When it  Starts to happen you get dizzy and lightheaded and feel like you’re in a fog that’s how I know I’m hyperventilating.

The feeling drives me crazy I've has paramedics come out to me a load of times and been to the er but all test come back clear I've bought a oximeter so when I feel like I can't breathe I use that just for reassurance I hope there is a way out of this it's been over 4 months for me

Hey there, well lets see, I have been doing Cog therapy and exposure stuff but still getting hyperventilation. I am working out daily (running) and that takes the hyperventilation away quick, but I still get the adrenline jittery rush in the mornings. As the day progresses, it gets better for me.

I was taking .5 of clonopin in morning and afternoon but I noticed sometimes dont need it on the weekends. Maybe because im busyier and not behind a computer all day.

Basically I went 1 week at 50mg of Serzone at night. Second week went up to 100mg. Third week 150. So in 4 days I will be 2 full weeks at 150mg of Serzone. I see my doc in a week and a half and he probably will make me go up on it. Thats all they do until they can tell if its working. In the meantime I am taking clonopin to help stop the hyperventilation.

When I talk with people I start feeling it, hard to talk because I feel I cant breathe.

Yes, Im starting to feel the buzzing kick in in the mornings. I was told to relax my stomach muscles and it will help a lot with the hyperventilation by a few doctors online I listen to.  Right now I am trying this and just accepting it.
