Has anyone experienced any unusual side effects from the mirena? Im 26 have had mine for almost 18 months never experienced Amy anxiety or anything in my life, since having this inserted I've had 3 bouts of anxiety this one being the worst for last few days constant aches pains and numbness all on left side foggy brain on edge constantly. Dr assures me this is all part of severe anxiety as tests show normal yet no hormonal tests have been done.. Dr keeps prescribing anti depression meds which I refuse to take I feel this is a cop out as I am not depressed I have no reason to be I have amazing family and friends who have been a massive support I am just wondering if anyone has experienced similar issues with the mirena? I have an appointment again with the Dr tomorrow but sick of being told it's not the mirena as it's not stated in their website as a side effect!

My daughter had to stop using most of that stuff. Even the pill. First gyn said let it regulate and such. Left that dr. Second one stopped it all. He said anything that messes with your hormons can mess with you. But know it takes a couple of months after to re fix itself and because now you know anxiety you have to still self calm and such, she said shes thrilled shes off that stuff.

At that night I ate dinner at 9 then went to bed at 1 but it's a bad headache then I took ibuprofen at 2 but right after 15 minutes I feel like my bp is going down I woke my husband and told him I feel like I am not breathing anymore and I am going to die call 911 they said my bp is normal but my heart rate is so fast they said I had panic attack from that day till now I feel low energy , lightheaded, nauseated, frequently go to washroom I lost my weight so much, muscle pain dizziness , dryness in eyes. My hands and feets are cold , hot flushes and on and on

I am really scared about the feeling I am scared of going to the bed ,

I tried tapping for anxiety, went to the doc they said everything is normal

But today I thought may b mirena z the reason of anxiety

I put my iud on September 2017 plz help me guys is that iud is the reason of my anxiety? So what should I do now?????

I just had my Mirena removed, I had it in for 9 months. I journaled my experience because I have on going health issues and do it out of habit. Anyway, almost right away I wasn’t sleeping well, around 3 mth, I was feeling down, not my self, low energy, foggy brain, headaches and hair loss. I had zero sex drive, didn’t even know my husband was alive (this is not like me). Around this time the anxiety started, then I had 3 or 4 panic attacks, all things I’ve never dealt with in my life before the Mirena. After the last one I decided it was enough and got it removed. It’s been 9 days, and every day gets better, my sex drive is returning, the anxiety is less, I can think clearer, energy is getting better, everything is improving. Doctors will say it’s not the Mirena but I know it was. Trust your instincts, get it removed.

      Hello,

I went to my GP and he did my blood work done and found because of my hypothyroid synthyroid makes me hyperthyroid . And he did my dose reduction from 125mcg to 112.

I also told may b mirena is responsible for all these things but he said no . First u have to fix this up and then we will talk about that. Move on step by step.

Yes, I had my thyroid checked before removal and it was normal. I guess if you have issues with that, it can also make you very anxious. I hope everything works out for the best! Good luck.

Hi there. I recently just started getting very bad anxiety the past few months. I got my IUD put in in june & just a few days ago I got it removed. I would get them so bad i’d start to get dizzy & feel as though I couldn’t talk to anyone. I get anxiety just being at home. my doctor put me on citalopram which is used for depression & anxiety... since I got my iud removed do you think I should still take the medication even if i’m off the iud or no? I just hate this anxiety so much it’s never been this bad before.
