Anxiety and potassium levels

i have been suffering with anxiety since just before christmas, I had my first panic attack on holiday with my family ( no cause or trigger) i was scared out of my mind and had no idea what was happening and thought i was having a heart attack. exactly 1 month (to the day) after that episode i was in the shower and had another panic attack out of the blue. ever since then i have been constantly struggling with anxiety and get nauseous almost every day, i am shaky and feel weak after minor tasks, my head feels likes its in a bubble and i have trouble concentrating. i can't handle normal day to day stresses and everything is overwhelming for me. the scariest part of this is i have no real triggers and i feel like it creeps up at any moment. I have suffered with mild depression before but never anxiety and this has completely knocked me off my feet. I am normally a strong and happy go lucky type of person and i don't recognize myself anymore. i have seen my GP and had blood tests to rule out any underlying medical symptoms and my results have come back and said my potassium levels are high, does any one have experience or knowledge with high potassium and anxiety? i am just trying to get a hold of what this is and i know perhaps i am just suffering with an anxiety disorder but anything that could help me to piece it all together and get a hold of it would be so helpful. thank you for taking the time to read my story.

I know it has been a while since you wrote this but wanted to reply anyway. I believe when your minerals go out of whack, especially your electrolytes, you start to get symptoms, one of them being anxiety. My potassium has been on the lower end of normal and sometimes even slightly lower than that for a while now. I never paid any attention to it because for a while, I did not have concerning symptoms. Potassium is one of those electrolytes that act like water soluable vitamins. your body takes what it needs and eliminates the rest so for deficiencies you have to be consistent to raise it. Since yours is high, I would evaluate your diet to see how much you are eating in foods and start eliminating them slowly. I have had major anxiety and I believe it's because of this imbalance. It's not just Potassium its magnesium calcium sodium. Your body works really hard to keep the balance but with all the fast food we eat and stress, it throws this balance off and we can certainly start to have symptoms. Hope you are better now.

Just out of curiosity, have u checked ur sodium levels? Especially when ur potassium is high. I had a similar type panic attack months ago along with the nausea. Could be a simple electrolyte imbalance. I spoke to doctors about this and was referred to an endo specialist, but more so as my twin brother was diagnosed with Addison's Disease or adrenal insuficiency.
