Anxiety and Relationships

So I met a guy when I was at day hospital last year (so he know all about my mental health problems) and he wants to go on a date.

Thing is though, the thought of being in a relationship makes me feel sick with anxiety, and I wondered if anyone else was similar?

I'm not too sure what it is, maybe the thought of being trapped, or when i'm anxious i'd rather be alone, so i push people away, and that's not fair..

Hi Amy, you don't have to be in a relationship to go on a date.

You are allowing your anxiety to determine and dictate whether you go out with a bloke just for a date.

Try to see it for what it is, just you and a bloke going out presumably for dinner and a few drinks, maybe the cinema, why don't you decide what you do and where you go and just be comfortable in someone else's company and no more.

You never know things may change and over time a relationship may develop which you are happy with but just for now put it to the back of your mind and enjoy yourself

You set boundaries and you retain control.... Go on take the opportunity and enjoy.
