Anxiety and vitamin B complex

Posted , 10 users are following.

Hi all. A week ago I decided to try vitamin B complex to help fight my anxiety. The first day was ok but the second day after taking it my anxiety got so severe I couldn't cope with that to the point my meds seemed not to work as well. I Googled and some people state the same happened to them as well. When I stopped Taking them and I took only 2, the 4 day it got slowly better. Have any of you had such experience?

Sorry my mistake, didn't want to sound rude. My doctor said it could be cause by the niacin in the b complex with make everything work and function faster in your body.

Yes, yet again she took countless blood tests to figure out what is low in the blood. She also mentioned about b12 and b6 as separate pills. Going back there on 19th. Also they want to check if I'm allergic to gluten, no idea why. Tried of tests and pills. Feel like a laboratory 🐭. I was just really scared as even benzos didn't work during that period. I was panicking 😩

I know it hard when going through all the testing. Hang in there. Maybe she feels you having trouble with an allergic reaction or intolerance to  gluten. someone on here recently just noted they had celiac and it was treated as anxiety for years until they tested and found it and now shes all good. It can happen.

if you are deficient in b12 then it isnt absorbing. Your stomach is responsible to ansorb certain vitamins. Acid reflux meds stop some vitamins from absorbing and i believe your gp feels if theres a gluten problem then maybe this is behind your problem. They can test dor so much these days.

i have ailments and it really stinks when you have to go thru all these tests and scans and more tests. So i do understand the frustration and dislike it all. My gp explained to me b12 injection are the only real way to help a deficiency when it isnt absorbing on its own. And yes they will then need to do a lot more bloodwork because its a balance and when one is off others are off.

Hang in there. Hopefully they will figure it all out. The only thing you can do is learn deep belly breathing. Bellybio app can teach you. If its a reaction of some sort the tests will find it. Good luck.feel good.

She's saying that the vitamin B doesn't stay in your system for long because you pee it out and also symptoms of vitamin b deficiency is anxiety depression mood swings and more so vitamin b would help not make it worse

Unless someone has a proven vitamin deficiency, there is no point in taking vitamins.

We get what we need from food.

Any excess is urinated. So the same goes for vitamins bought over the counter and prescribed vitamins, too.

The body takes what it needs and the excess is urinated.

It is not possible for vitamins to ne retained in the body, so your hypothesis that the vitamin D made you ill is certainly not possible.

Not exaclty, but I had a B comp that had niacine in it, niacine makes me feel freaky and tingly. Not fun.

      Ok, Dee. I stand corrected.

Can you get VIT b comp with niacin missing?

      I'm serious!

I have learned something this morning (yes, it's 6 a.m. where I am) so sorry to have been so dogmatic yesterday.

I disagree with some of your replies here..I started taking vitamin b complex and my anxiety increased, I had to stop them.. also had to stop vitamin D3 tabs and B12 tabs and change to sublingual ones..These vitamins CAN increase your anxiety. They increased mine too Terri..xx

I tend to lean on your thoughts here too.  B is for energy, that energy we get may feel very much like anxiety. When I was in my 20's my friend gave me a niacin and told me it made him feel invigorated and full of energy.  All it did to me was make me feels like I was going to die on the spot.  My face, my neck, and then my whole body turned dark red, rapid heart beath, breathing was diffecult, sweating; I really thought he'd poisoned me.  I do take it now, but in my lower dosages.
