sorry you are going through this Scott. I know how upsetting it can be. Here’s a few suggestions for calming down the anxiety before bed.

    1. avoid caffeine and sugary type foods before bedtime
    2. get some exercise during the day it will help relax your body and mind.
    3. stay off of social media and news reports before bed. They actually can increase anxiety.
    4. just before I lay down at night, I will turn on a call me meditation for anxiety from YouTube. I never make it through the whole meditation because I end up falling asleep. They are so relaxing! There are so many different ones on YouTube including ones for anxiety, relaxation, overthinking, body scans to relax, etc. I can’t go to sleep without them now because I would just lay there and think and think.

if I ever happened to wake up in the middle of the night I just play one again. it’s better with earbuds or headphones but it works OK without.

    5. drink some warm herbal tea with a little honey. Helps to relax! Also a nice warm bath!

I hope some of these are helpful for you! Take care ❤
