Anyways the past week I’ve developed a new symptom where I feel like I can’t breath. Some days it’s constant. My chest feels heavy and tight. I also keep waking up In my sleep feeling like i cant breathe. It’s scaring the crap out of me. I feel like I can’t go to the doctor because always go and everything just end so up being normally and anxiety. Please tell me I’ll be ok that this is definitely just anxiety.

Jenna,
I have most definitely experienced the same with anxiety. I have had it off and on the last couple of months since I have gotten into a bad anxiety/ depression since the stress of my Mothers illness and passing a month ago. I too can get it during the night and it is so scarey. It sometimes makes me want to cough as well. My doctor told me it is from all the stress I have been under. It is very unsettling when it happens and makes my anxiety worse. Hope this helps! God bless you in your struggles with anxiety. ?? Barb

You will be ok, try and take slower breaths. I been having anxiety for over a month now, it all started with shortness of breath which make me paranoid that I couldn't breath, thus causing me to continuously force deep breaths. Each time I would get stress/panic I would begin to take that deep breath and grasp for air. Also didn't help that I paired my anxiety with breathing and sleeping and now I have a case of insomnia. I have been working with a hypnosis to overcome and help me deal and live with my anxiety, and to also help with my breathing issue. For me my breathing issue has only happened when I have lack of sleep and or being anxious about getting rest but cannot.

Your GP will expect you to make an appointment if you are feeling Anxious and need medications.
No matter what is said you feel you are not breathing and your chest feels tight, you are also unable to sleep.
The weather where we are has really been hot and the warm nights can make us feel uncomfortable. In the warmth in the room, you may also wake up effected by the heat, again where we are the heat is quite high and this can make people uncomfortable, try letting some air in the room.
Make an appointment with your GP if your Anxiety is bad it may be you need a script for Antidepressant. I take them about one hour before sleep, they seem to help me relax and sleep.
