Has anyone with anxiety felt dizzy or unbalanced when walking in fluorescent or any lights, everyday I walk from the parking lot to where I work I get unbalanced and dizzy , when I’m also walking to lunch and I go through the warehouse. Also if I go grocery shopping or any store I start getting panicky and dizzy ? I’ve been to the urgent care and my dr and everything is fine. They say it’s anxiety

If you've been to an urgent care & a doctor & they told you everything is fine, then don't worry about. It's just anxiety. Don't think to deep into it. I've been to the er 3 times, seen a pediatrician, & a cardiologist. Anxiety had over 100 symptoms. You're fine. Just try to drink me water, exercise, & meditate to keep your mind at ease. Take care

    Hello,

Firstly, I have the feelings of dizziness and unbalanced on and off, especially when my underlying anxiety is acting up quietly behind the scenes. But instead of simply knowing that it's the anxiety causing this, let me quickly tell you what I've learnt about why we feel like this, especially where lights are concerned:

When we have anxiety, our bodies are in a state of preparation for flight, fight or fright mode. So everything in our body is on standby. Have you seen a cat scared and the way its eyes becomes huge with hair standing etc. Same thing for us. We get supremely sensitive. Our bodies react to the change in oxygen levels around us, to noises if they're too loud etc. and equally to lights.

Hope that helps. Take care. You're not alone.

Thanks for the reply , is there anything that makes it feel better

Sleep. If you get 8 hours of sleep minimum and dont set an alarm, let your body wake itself up in the morning, i find it gets better.

Hi, I have felt like that for 5 Months now. It started with VERTIGO and now I feel unbalanced and Can't Walk right. The Psychiatrist says it is from anxiety. Some days are better than others...

Is there anything you do to make it go away ?

Hi, there is really nothing that I know of to make it go away. I did go to an ENT doctor on he confirmed it was vertigo but I believe most of this slow unsteady drunk like walking is from anxiety. I walk so damn slow I hate it. See a psychiatrist if you have not yet. It's like living in hell.Maybe ANTIDEPRESSANTs will help. But you are not alone. Alot of people apparently have the same symptoms...

I have this problem and it comes and goes. I started experiencing it again recently, which is bad because I work in a store. I actually talked about it with my therapist today and she suggested that I was over stimulated and experiencing a sensory overload. She said some people are more sensitive to things like that and that it sends you into a panic. I'm not saying that's what it is, but it's an explanation that makes sense to me. I've had this problem due to a medication reaction as well. I hope you feel better soon. Just know that it's okay. The doctor says you're okay. And you have lots of people on here who have similar experiences.
