Anxiety - Chest pain and more!

Hi there I've been handling my anxiety quite well for a couple months or so. I suffer from God awful health anxiety. I feel like I have every illness known to man. The past week alone I've convinced myself I've had bone cancer, lukemia, liver cancer and heart attack. Since last week, when my health anxiety was at its peak, I've had a nagging pain that began on the right side of the bottom of my ribs. The pain has been travelling now, it's sometimes on the left or mid upper back. I also feel some discomfort in my right eye, almost like blurriness but an optometrist confirmed that my eyes were perfectly fine. I'm just wandering does anyone else have these symptoms and how come they ain't going yet? I am 22 year old mum and I feel my life is on hold.

Hi there I went to doctors at the end of May and he diagnosed me with severe anxiety and prescribed Sertraline or something like that. That helped me gain my appetite but I got awful side effects. It's an awful disease is anxiety, wouldn't wish it upon my enemy! Thank you for your reply

Hello! I understand you very well!! I was the same, but my pain actually started from pain in my belly, on the right side of my abdomen, where the ribs end. This pain is sometimes so bad that it shoots to my side and back, or it can travel to the left rib cage, sometimes it affects my stomach too and makes me feel sick.
I had abdomen scan and all clear - it turned out to be anxiety.
Try not to stress, it is just another symptom of stress in your body. If you have any tablets for stomach cramps you can try those for few days and see if it helps. It has helped me.
I haven't had any issues with my eyes so not sure, but heared from people with anxiety that it can happen too.
Hope you feel better soon x

Hiya! You've brought me such reassurance with your reply, thank you very much! I have exactly the same symptoms too! When I'm distracted, out and about for example, the pain is unnoticeable but as soon as my mind drifts to anxiety or if I focus on the pain it comes. I've been doctors a lot for other symptoms and my doctor always says it's anxiety and I suffer from severe anxiety when he did the tests. I just hope I can well and truly overcome this nasty disease! Again, thank you x

You are welcome
We are all in the same boat and you have people here to support you! That's exactly it, when you are distracted it is better, when focus on the area with pain it just gets so much worse! I was ok this morning but then I am trying to come off proronalol and I got myself a bit stressed out and now this pain sits in my chest more than anything else 😂 but you know what I just laugh at it at this stage and I am not going to even think about it twice as I know it's just anxiety! I will look up the list of things I had experienced in the past and will send it so you can see if there is more you can relate to. The good thing is none of the symptoms are actual ilnesses!!!

Aye, I'm like that now. I just need to convince myself it's all anxiety and my body is causing all this, not a life threatening illness lol. I hope you get well soon and come off the medication with ease
all the best x

Oh God, you poor soul! That's an absolutely awful thing to go through! I really hope we all recover quickly. As I'm typing im getting like cloudy vision in my eyes and no amount of rubbing my eyes can fix it. It's just life I guess lol. I know about the weight loss, I too lost around 8kg and was really depressed. I would only eat my 15 month old year old son's leftovers. It was a very dark time. Thank you for taking your time to message me I really appreciate it!
