Hi all

I'm new to this site an also new to having anxiety disorder, I keep experiencing all these new feelings mostly pains, an I don't know if they are normal or just me being ott an worrying again. My latest problem is this tight feeling almost like a cramp in the my throat / jaw, I've been checking my mouth also, done the ultimate an went on Google an now convinced myself I've got cancer of the mouth or throat! Does anyone else experience these things? X

Hi laura33uk as an anxiety sufferer myself i understand how your feeling, ive experienced the type of sensations you are discribing and its not nice expecially when you het it in your head that you could be suffering from some life threatening condition such as cancer, my biggest fear iscancer and i too google my symptoms and highten my anxieties, rest assured what youare experiencing is more than likely anxiety and u may find thinking about it too much can actually prolong the symptoms and make them feel worse, have you seen your gp? Get it checked our anyway but i think you need to sort out you anxiety problem which is whats causing your symptoms.

Oh Laura I am so in the same boat with you. I recently had a serious health scare. It turns out it was minor and I'll be okay, however, I was told to be very aware of any possible symptoms I may experience that could signal oral or throat cancer. I had a cold at the time. I had a sore throat. Since then, in a period of less than a week, I've manifested several other symptoms just by stressing about it. I have ear pain, a tight jaw, and it hurts when I swallow. I know it's part real and part imagined and very stress related but how do I stop being so focused on this so I can see what symptoms may in fact be real and which are stress induced?  I think it's good to talk about it with someone other than my husband who is beginning to think I'm nuts.

I find my daughter clenches her jaw and grinds her teeth when she is anxious.  She is nine years old, non-verbal and has a severe intellecual disability so I can't exactly sit down and discuss her worries.  I just try to give her lots of reassuring hugs and distract her or take her away from the situation that is making her anxious.  I find distraction has been a common thread on this forum for dealing with anxiety.

Hey Scott , I understand exactly what you mean and are saying , the righting of the neck and pain in that jaw . I have the same thing , even while typing this I feel it now . I think it has something to do with your mussels after an attack from shaking or trembling . Because they're stiff from the trembling . That's my guess I hope to give you more input from my phaychiatrist

Once in a blue moon I have chest pain, pain in the back of my throat, jaw, and ears. It only happens during times of extreme stress. Usually my anxiety presents as nervousness and fear. For me, those physical symptoms only happen on rare occasions but I have to lie down when it happens because it's very painful. I had my heart checked out so I know it's just the stress and anxiety. You're not alone.

Hey I do get these same feelings , I make my self burp because I think it's too much gas in my body so I try to realease it . But that doesn't help , I assume it's normal because I've had tightening around the throats and jaw . I get your worry.
