My latest problem is this tight feeling almost like a cramp in the my throat / jaw, I've been checking my mouth also, done the ultimate an went on Google an now convinced myself I've got cancer of the mouth or throat! Hi Everyone...it is so nice to have a forum like this to share our concerns and hopefully get some help from each other. I can relate to just about all of you in one way or another. About 3.5 years ago, my son was diagnosed with General Anxiety, after developing Conversion Disorder (his legs literally shook for four months and he couldn't walk, had to be homeschooled and began psycho therapy (drugs/therapy)). This time in our lives stressed all of us out further, especially me being his mom and feeling hopeless. He is now 19 and doing pretty well all in all, but still coping with some form of anxiety and/or depression (although much milder). The meds helped, but now we are trying to wean him off of them (in time) as he enters adulthood. Anxiety and stress can slowly kill us and lead us down a path of deteriorated health. I am convinced of this. Any way we can control stress and hopefully anxiety is worth it. I now feel like I am a recipient of an anxiety disorder of some kind. Since this incredible stressful time in our lives 3.5 yrs ago, I have developed more symptoms than I have time to list. The biggest ones being dramatic weight gain (35 lbs on a normally healthy frame), fatigue, loss of physical ability, anxiety out of nowhere, and roaming upper body aches when I exercise (tyring to make myself better, I might add). I have been through a host of test for cardiovascular disease, only to be told I am "normal." The latest is a normal nuclear stress test. Yet, I feel like I am dragging myself through life, unable to exercise and now feeling tightness in my neck, jaw, shoulders, etc. I DO have a stressful job and am doing everything I can to retire sooner rather than later. With my son's illness, now me, and dealing with everyday stresses like work, bills, relationships, and aging parents, I many times feel like all I want to do is runaway. It's been tough. However, I do have a nice vacation planned in a month and will make sure I enjoy it. I have tried mindfulness courses, meditating and positive thinking -- those do help, but I am really on the search to find what I can do to feel pysically and emotionally better. I am going to search out a functional medicine doctor next and keep trying to eat as clean as I can -- I know inflammation is a big culprit to so many issues. Thanks again to all of you for sharing and best wishes...let's keep trying hard to help each other out and feel better. Take care....smile

I know what you mean. As I'm writing this my jaw throat and even my tongue feel tight to the point of pain sad

It's Def just an anxiety symptom . Recently I was sitting in the doctors office his finger on my pulse, blood pressure cuff on, stethoscope on my heart. There was pain shooting down my neck and shoulder down my arm to my elbow I felt like I was having a heart attack and I was going to pass out because I couldn't get enough air..... the doctor said I was perfectly fine. Normal pulse, normal blood pressure and normal heart beat! It's weird how our brain can make us feel these dodgy physical symptoms. I hope it helps to know other people are feeling the same. It really helps me to tell myself over and over its just anxiety, it can't last forever, it WILL go away. Good luck !

I'm going through this now. It's horrible. It must be TMJ. My throat feels tight as well. I grind my teeth a lot. It must be stress. Highly doubt it's throat cancer. I'm a hypochondriac and I research more than doctors. A sign of throat cancer is horseness and trouble swallowing. But even those symptoms wind up being benign most of the time as well.
