Been suffering with anxiety so bad that I have derealisation as a induce from my anxiety what's the best way to get my brain to relax enough to come back into reality? Don't really want to go on anti depressants they got me back into this mess

For me I have found that forcing myself to be apart of the world helps the most. A technique I learned in therapy is to force yourself to acknowledge the world around you through each sense find five things per sense so for hearing I would find five things that I heard right now (cars, crickets, breathing etc) for touch I would run my hand along different things and acknowledge the texture.. Etc. It was very helpful for me.
I started running as well (walking would work too) I would make myself acknowledge the world as I went.
Remember this is common. People with anxiety experience this and at some point if we are proactive we all come out of it.
Have you considered cognitive therapy? In my opinion it's better than medicine because it teaches you how to overcome anxiety verses just masking it.

Well I had chronic derealisation for like a whole year last year but didn't know what it was until like 2 months ago I come off my anti depressants and it went but had bad anxiety but couldn't believe I felt normal again as I didn't know what was going on when I had it and the doctor put me back on tablets and boom back into the derealisation and I stuck in it I've joined the gym trying to relax the brain and I'm also going to have a consoletationnwithba physiatrist as I want to get this behind me like I can't even go out and meet people cause in my head I'm just telling my self I can't and I will panic, I might also have therapy ? I'm just sat inn my sofa so down because of the way I'm feeling feels like I'm nit even part of the world it's horrible

Hi Jack,
Sorry your having a difficult time but do try and push through and get out... little steps... even if it's for 20 min... then add on slowly.
What is chronic dereliasation ?

Chronic Derealization is a state in the mind where your brain tries to protect you from an overload of stress and anxiety by blocking out the outside world that causes the stress. So sometimes people feel very strange like things might look different to them or they might feel like they're not really here, some people don't even recognize people they know. Their memory can be affected. This can be reversed by managing stress and anxiety better but when you're going through it it's really scary!

Wow, that is scary! I'm having a terrible time with my anxiety!😞
I feel so bad for people that suffer with it. I guess I'm lucky that I don't have that derelisation and panick attacks. I do spiral and cry terribly😞Everyone stay strong. Prayers for everyone 🙏🏾

Hi jack
what I believe hollylajuh is referring to is a technique called Mindfulness that is taught all over the world. It teaches you to be "in the present moment" instead of worrying about the future which doesn't exist and it's just a concept at this time. Worrying about the future includes "What if thinking "
mindfulness teaches you a new approach and how to deal with anxiety, fear, negative thinking and help you regain your peace of mind. There's a lot more to it than this but if you'd like to learn it there's a book with the same title mindfulness. It is white with a ball of string on the cover. Definitely worth reading! You can find it in the book stores or online.
you can also listen to mindful meditation's on YouTube for anxiety, stress, sleep, depression etc. they completely calm down my mind and body. I do this a couple times a day. There are so many to choose from.
I highly recommend you listening to one called 10 minute breathing meditation. This is also on YouTube and it's important to know.
do things you enjoy that calm you down .
once I stopped taking life so seriously, got more active, including exercise, became more social, eat healthier and learned how to manage my anxiety with counseling, mindfulness approach , The D realization subsided.
we have to be relentless and fight for our peace of mind and happiness.
you can do this! 😁??

I get it. It's a terrible feeling. Stick to truth though. You ARE a part of this world and this WILL pass. I wish there were magic words to make it go away. Just know you're not alone!
