Anxiety is high! Starting Vistaril

Deciding whether to take medicine or not is a tough decision, and you may believe that medications are for "weak" people, and they don't want to be "dependent". The best way to fight anxiety is to commit to a comprehensive treatment which may include a combination of medication, therapy, exercise and healthy lifestyle. Therapy might be a better option for you if you are not a fan of the idea of medication. In therapy they will try to get down to the REASON you are prone to the anxiety and try to give you tools to help manage it. You may not require taking the medication for an extended period of time but that will depend on what your doctor recommends.

Hi I understand how hard it is to start taking medication, I have been on it so long and a little while ago I told my doctor I feel very embaressed taking the meds and having to rely on them he said he didnt understand the problem as I would not feel the same way if I broke my arm and it had to be in plaster, just the same thing.

My goals also are to eventually reduce the meds and stop taking all together at the moment is feels like a dream but I am determined to get there.
