Anxiety issues.. main one being dizziness

Hi people new to this. at the end of June 2017 I caught a viral infection really nasty one was laid up in bed for 3 days straight. It then lifted but I didn't feel the same after I kept getting bad anxiety for some reason. It is now 27/08/2017 and i feel like crap. At first it was panic attacks and general nervousness. Now Im constantly feeling dizzy like an unbalanced feeling when i walk. Sometimes even when i lay. I visited my GP with a thyroid test. She said it was under-active but she wouldn't prescribe me medication for it. Due to the fact she thought it would correct it self being on the borderline. Now my question is this, having searched for answers for dizziness. I am told it is just anxiety. However with the thyroid issue there. would that be causing the dizziness. And if it is anxiety causing it how would you rid yourself of the dizziness.

Thanks any advice would be helpful.

Hi Lee could it not be a inner ear infection just a thought making u so dizzy

Hi tammy not got an ear infection. Been checked out for that. Thanks anyway

Can definitely be anxiety, agree though, did they mention inner ear infection or vertigo , , all including thyroid are common and treatable so don't worry or google just ask gp again if it could be the above. Blood pressure or meds can make you dizzy also, just ask gp to go over things with youvzgain as it's making you anxious.??

Hello Mary how long did you have your dizziness for. Also what anti anxiety medication did your Dr prescribe you. At the moment mine as given me a 10mg of propranolol but ive stopped taking it for now. Wasn't really helping the dizziness.

Taking care of your Anxiety would help the dizziness. Hypothyroidism causes dizziness too. Good Luck💖

Yes, I had this years ago.  Pure dizziness from getting out of bed, all day long.

Had ear testing, all put down to anxiety.  Doc said it was like my head was a bucket with a pin prick hole in it, slowly leaking and fluid getting lower and lower.  The fluid being serotonin and draining away.  I was put on Proprananol, 2 caps at first, did nothing, so was put up and up until I was on 8 caps.  I thought it was never going to work but the doc told me to trust her and wait.  After about a couple of months, it stopped.  I was on them for 11 years without a break.  Came off very slowly and was fine.  Not had it since.  I am a panicky anxious person by nature and it built up.

    Hope this helps.

Yes they did.  I can't remember what the mg were in each capsule, but I it took 8 and it slowly disappeared.  How long were you on them for?

To be honest only for about a week. The reason being they were making me feel so drowsy all the time to the point I couldn't function properly

Oh Jell that is nowhere long enough.  Yes I do remember being drowsy for a few weeks.  I do remember that feeling and did not like it at first - also my muscles felt tired and weak for quite a while.  But I learnt to go with it and not fight it.  Eventually it gets less and less until you hardly notice it.  But I preferred that to the awful dizziness I got on rising in the morning and all day long, it was awful.  It stopped me eating and I lost a lot of weight.  I had no appetite at all.  I also lost my sense of humour totally - nothing made me laugh or smile and my hubs thought he had lost me.  Then all of a sudden the dizzies lifted and I felt hungry and even better something made me laugh.  Miracle.

I would try them again if I were you - give them a month - but there are loads out there you can have a go at.  Life is awful dizzy.

      Good luck.
