Anxiety or CKD?

When I was 21 I had acute kidney failure due to overdosing ibuprofen. My kidneys recovered as my doctors said. Kept visiting nephrologist for 2 years and everything was fine. At the same time I'm having extreme health anxiety since I was like 10. So now I m noticing bubbly urine in the mornings (if I pee sitting there are no bubbles) I'm well hydrated through out the day.i feel like my sweat is cold as well. I'm going to the gym regularly and I don't want to stop this if I'm having CKD. My blood pressure last week was 138\81. I'm also having a bad depression right now. And as I know almost all the symptoms I'm having right now can be due to depression and anxiety except cold sweat and bubbly urine in the morning. Sorry for disturbing.

Hi simply run a creatinine test, so you can conclude the kidney function. Thanks,

Too much protein in the urine causes bubbles, and it's usually due to kidney disease. See a nephrologist asap to rule it out. Ask the nephrologist to do complete blood work..hopefully all is good. You will be in my prayers.

Thank you. But I read that protein in the urine also indicate muscle breakdown for I ve been doing sports all my life and going to the gym regularly. Also creatinine levels in blood might be higher due to increased muscle mass?

Are you on protein supplement, or heavy protein diet? If so please stop and run through all blood work. I have heard cases of kidney issues due to those. If you have CKD heavy workouts are not advisable, but walking is better for CKD.

Remember that the bubbles in urine itself is not a serious issue, if other blood test are satisfactory.

I agree with the others. You need to have a full renal panel run. I would imagine they will also check your urine for protein. Once you get these tests results back it will be easier to determine if you've got anything that needs to be addressed with your kidneys.

    Best wishes!

Hello Janis. I’m so sorry you are going through this. My husband going through same.  He started having bubbly urine. Went to nephrologist and was told that was due to dumping proteins. Proteinuria due to kidneys not working correctly. Important to see nephrologist. Many things can be done to help. He also has bad anxieties and depression due to this and has actually starting talking to a therapist to help. It has been helping a lot. I think because it’s a neutral party that you can release any fears to. Easier for him to talk to Neutral party because he doesn’t want to worry family with his thoughts. Most important though is to see nephrologist as soon as you can. Please try not to worry. I know easier said than done but know your not alone.
