    Hi Stephanie,

I am not a doctor but I had similar symptoms and it was from my back. Trapped nerve can be really painful and also cause the burning sensation. You can feel that pain everywhere on your body not just on your back. Please do me a favour and don’t try to google your symptoms as it will make things much worse.  But as I said I am not a doctor I would suggest to go to see your GP just to make sure there is nothing wrong with you.

Heart problem chest pain is like a crushing pain. That doubles you over. It's not sharp or shocking. Heart problem pains also are aggravated by excersise. Like you can even walk to the mailbox & back without being completely out of breath, dizzy, & having chest pain. If the chest pain leaves when you are sitting down, but starts when you excersise that's more likely a heart problem lol.

If it's burning, that sounds like GERD (acid reflux). It will make you nauseous & short of breath. It will also make your chest feel tight because of the stomach acid. I was rushed to the er from school because i thought i was having a heart attack at 16 lol. Very unlikely. It was just an acid reflux attack.

However, I am not a doctor. I'm just telling you what's more likely in your favor. It sounds like anxiety & acid reflux. Go get checked first & stay off Google. Dont waste your time stressing its not worth it.

Thanks so much guys. I realize now that googling this kind of stuff definitely makes things worse.. thought i was gonna end up dead because of a heart attack. Went to the ER and they did ultrasounds and everything and told me all was normal and its probably just my anxiety. Just sucks having to live like this on a day to day basis. New symptoms, wondering if its something serious or if its just your anxiety again.. takes a toll on ya. And only being 17.. i can just imagine what the rest of my life has in store for me with anxiety. Thanks again !!

Hey Stephanie I have been going through the same thing you have been going through. I am 22 so just a few years older . I have had 6 Er visits since middle of September 17. Have had ekgs ultrasound blood test cat scan chest X-rays for my heart and everything is good. I went to Er so many times because of the chest pain and then I started to get stomach abdomen arm back jaw shoulder pain and all. I’ve had that shock feeling too a few times . The Er doctor told me that was from nerves. And I tried Prozac and buspar for anxiety and they didn’t help me much though . I will have good and bad days. I also tried pantoprozle and omeprazole for acid reflux but I don’t like the side effects they give me. But your not alone I have the same issues as you and many others do as well. It’s just hard telling ourselves we are fine when we have chest pain especially people who suffer from anxiety. Shoot I was having bad headaches from the buspar I thought I was having a brain anorysm. And when my stomach hurt real bad o though I had a ulcer burst. It’s just my way of thinking with anxiety but I know I have to be stronger then it. And best advice I can give you is to stay off google DO NOT LOOK UP SYMTOMS THATS ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES WE MAKE.

Lol I had that too. Thought it was heart problems, then gerd but then accepted that it was anxiety. When the heart begins to beat quickly and people experience "palpitations", they sometimes feel a heart attack is occurring. In the first place, the heart can beat quickly and continuously for a long period of time without causing any damage. Although heart palpitations seem to occur in the left side of the chest, there are many DIFFERENCES between panic attack and a real heart attack. During a real heart attack, the primary symptom is a crushing sensation inside the chest and a pain that is continuous. During a panic attack, the attention is focused on the quick and rapid beating of the heart itself. ("I can hear my heart beating even in my ears!" People having panic attacks are NOT experiencing heart problems. A real heart attacks produces crushing internal pain that doubles people up and drops them to the floor. They DO NOT hear their heart beating nor do they care. The intense, crushing pain is the only thing they can pay attention to.

    Stephanie,

Have you been cleared by a doctor that this is indeed, a heart issue? This is the first step. When I was young and started having panic attacks, it was because I was young and foolish and experimented with some "stuff." I had no idea what I was in for. The chemical in the "stuff" induced a rapid increase in my heart rate that I could not slow down. I thought I was going to die. My nervous system was brought to the brink - everything was heightened. My mother was sympathetic but did not know what was happening, The next day, I was weak and scared, my whole life took a dive. I developed phobias of leaving the home, etc. I went to the emergency room and was told that my heart was fine, even an EKG did not convince me. Every little pain was the beginning of the end, or so I thought. My recovery came in stages over the years, but I developed a general anxiety disorder (which I most likely already had), and OCD, compulsive thoughts. I had to take valium, see a doctor, etc. Fear of heart ailments is very common in people with anxiety.  Heart pains (area around the chest) is common in anxiety, so is digestive problems which can lead to indigestion, burning sensations, etc. It can be a vicious cycle, so you need to first alleviate your fear of heart problems by seeing a doctor, if you already haven't. I lived next door to a young doctor at the time. I used to go over there out of compulsion to discuss my heart. He was adamant that he was not going to talk to me about my heart, but would discuss other things. It is impossible to tell on a post whether you have anxiety or heart symptoms. Your first recourse is see a doctor to rule out any physical problems. There may be other issues, something which anxious people don't like to hear. My guess is that you are anxious and have already seen a doctor. Anxiety is very prevalent in this day and age and is becoming more so all the time. Watch youtube videos on anxiety and how psychosomatic symptoms mimic physical problems. Do you feel your pulse a lot? This is symptomatic with anxious people who have a fixation on their heart. See a doctor first, then start working though what is bothering you. Take care.
