Permnantly have palpitations(more so pounding pulse in throat) 24hrs a day 7 days a week, gets worse when doing basic things like getting up and lifting small items or going to do something basic, have pain in breast bone area, very mild and no all time, sometime worse when bend forward. sometime have to cough in mornings to clear throat as seems like i have something stuck in it, and hoarse some mornings, sometime have to swallow more and feel like i have excess siliva in my mouth, had palpitations for 4 years on and off had 7 day monitor 4 years ago, found nothing in last year had 2 x ecg all clear, been tested for thyroid, anemia, kidneys etc all fine. Got ringing in my ears, which has got worse in 1 ear since i went on beta blockers 10 days ago(right ear seems clicking when loud noises like alarm going off etc)Also got sore ankles. Very worried its all heart related, doctors scheduled a ultrasound as 1 doctor said he heard something different in my heart, could it be anxiety?? Sick of feeling like this 24/7 but didn,t think anxiety could last this long without going away

i’m sorry you are going through this. Anxiety can come and go for quite some time especially if it is unmanaged anxiety.
I have had sensations come and go for many years but in the beginning it was completely unmanaged. I let it run my life instead of finding ways to tone it down. The more I paid attention to it the worse it was. I also had a palpitations and many other sensations that go along with anxiety.
As far as the palpitations go there are ways to relax them and lower the heart rate. it all centers around proper breathing for anxiety. That is the key! If you’re not sure how to do that, get on YouTube and look up breathing for anxiety or panic. Also there’s mindfulness breathing. Whenever I do this my heart rate settles down and I feel much more at peace.
palpitations with anxiety is just a release of adrenaline that increases the heart rate. it’s not harmful.
All of this is basically in the mind meaning whatever we think about is going to expand whether it’s positive or negative. with negativity, a person will experience all kinds of body sensations that cause them fear. The brain will believe whatever you tell it.
I have a feeling that whatever test you get is going to be completely normal. That’s when you know your sensations are due to anxiety and stress.
The reason anxiety can last so long is because the issues that caused it are not resolved.
the best thing to do is figure out what is causing you anxiety in your life and that might take speaking with a counselor who can help you with all of this and with managing anxiety! Take care

Hi there,
Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Long term stress can certainly cause all the symptoms you listed and with what you mention about work and your son it is no wonder you are not feeling well. Do you have any help with your son? is there any way you can lessen your stress at work?

Starting a new job in 10 days time, working 12 weeks notice thats what has been causing the stress, doctors put me on beta blockers 4 weeks ago (Bisoprolol) seems to have made me worse,my anxiety a week ago was the worst its ever been. Now had tablets changed to propanolol been on them a day so we,ll see,
Always at back of my mind is heart problems every day feel something different just cant have a few days of feeling fine. got things like sore arms/pain in hands tingling in legs/more spider veins on foot, been at doctors 4-5 tiimes in last 3 months they must think iam world biggest hypocondriact
