Anxiety/Or Potential Brain Tumor

Ok, so I’ve posted before, but this worry is seriously ruining my life and I don’t know where else to turn. About two weeks ago I got hit with a pretty bad cold and headache from the left side of my neck to my ear. I started getting dizzy, my ear felt full, and starting getting muscle twitches. I went to the ER twice. The second time I went I got a CT scan with Contrast and they said everything looked perfectly normal. They weren’t able to see “part of my cerebellum” and when I heard that I flipped out. I went to my GP and he did nothing. I went to urgent care and the doctor did a nurulogical exam and said I was fine. She refused to send me for an MRI because she thinks I have anxiety. I know I have anxiety but these headaches still won’t go away, I’ll get these weird sharp pains in my head that freak me out, and I can barely sleep and eat. My eyes hurt. And I’m constantly thinking about it. Should I insist on an MRI?

Your ct scan was clear, you don’t have to worry about a tumor at this point. You’ve had multiple opinions none pointed you in that direction with imaging confirmation. Myself and many people I know with anxiety have had this same fear and similar symptoms. It’s just your brain being hyper aware because you’re so focused on this particular fear. Try seeing an otolaryngologist and have them check your inner ear. You may have an ear infection or something simple which would also explain the dizziness as your inner ear aids in balance.

Anxiety can do all these things and more to our bodies. I definitely have issues like these and I just recently had an MRI but I don't have the results back yet. I would assume tho that if there were anything seriously wrong it would have showed on the CT Scan.

You can't insist on having a test that a doctor does not feel is necessary. You've had a CT (with contrast) which was normal. Be happy.

Insist on an MRI for sure. If it comes back clean, you will have less anxiety! Happened to me too. NEVER TAKE BENZOS!

Hey mate. I am the same I panic with every twinge or shooting pain. Same as u I get spells of dizziness and bad pains. I've had scans and xray, Bloods the works. Dude anxiety can really mess with ya body, a brain tumour is easy to find nowadays. Try to not worry about it. That's what I am trying to do too but I know only too well how hard that is.

I'm in the same boat. Worrying steals the joy. You aren't alone. We are all on this forum for a reason.

No, you shouldn't. You've had a CT already that was clear. What do you need another test for? The doctor will not order a MRI because your other test was clear. It's unnecessary. You've been told that you are healthy. Accept it & be happy. There's people in the Hospital with real illnesses who wish the could hear that. Your fortunate. Stop your worry & live life. Brain tumor or not lol
