Hi Susan, yes I suffered from severe nausea for weeks. My stomach was like a knot. I was crying cause I was forcing food into myself sad Even tho I love food normally!! I lost 7kg (1.5 stone) in 3 weeks time. It was a nightmare. Still get like this sometimes, my pain travels tho. Ehat has helped me at a time was med called Spasmonal Forte. Wad taking it for 2 weeks every day. It loosened my guts eventually and it stopped hurting. I was in pain for weeks till I got it sorted eventually. I knew I was getting better when I felt hungry again wink

It's the stress that makes your belly tight, abdomen is like another brain in the body - so much nerves go in there. Some people have chest pains and others get diarrohea etc when under stress. I have both sad

Hi Susan. Yep . Anxiety makes my heart race , racing thoughts, tight or burning stomach. On waking I can often run to the loo, or feel sick, I have no appetite and have to drink milk shake and force myself to eat bananas. I always think the worst and then fear sets in with anxiety telling me these feelings won't pass. Good news is after these bad episodes they always do seem to pass and I gradually feel better and start to eat again and sleep better etc. Had anxiety for years, ' I know it's horrid' just have to look forward to the good days when it's not bad , and I can function quite well. Try to keep busy, know it's hard sometimes when anxiety makes us feel so down, but if I sit and think too much I just focus on every single twinge I get and convince myself of the worst( anxiety loves me ) if I'm busy I don't focus on it as much, talk, and most of all be reasured you are not alone , it's such a relief to find others who understand how you feel😊??

Yep, me too. These symptoms have only just hit me. It can last  a week or so at a time. They do pass and it helps to know this seems to be a common pattern. With me, I always coped with my anxiety attacks as they were short term, but now, they last quite a while. I’m 45 and wonder if the increase in severity is due to early menopause. I hope you get some relief knowing that your symptoms seem pretty common and I wish you all the best.

Hi Sarah. Sounds very familiar. I'm your age and was told my anxiety could be worse and lasting for a week or so at a time due to onset of menapause( think they called it peri menopause, ) great , anxiety and manapause, apparently they share some similar symptoms, . So frustrating , hate anxiety and all it's crazy symptoms but glad it doesn't seem to be anything worse, this is bad enough , look forward to the good days and hope we all have more good than bad, really feel for anyone who has to deal with this , so thankful for this forum , especially for those who just need to talk to people who understand. 😊??

I get nausea and a tightening of my stomach and chest. I force myself to eat.  Like others who have commented, bananas and cold stuff help my stomach. They are also easier for me to get down. I've lost 8lbs during an attack over a 2 week period.

Try Relaxation Techniques, Mindfulness and Breathing Techniques. Do not drink tea or coffee about four hours before sleep.

Try and relax before sleep with playing soft music you enjoy, Heavy Metal does not work for me, we need to relax. Sometimes a small glass of warm milk helps, put some honey in. Take evening tablets between 60/30 mins before sleep. That may also help
