Anxiety, pinched nerve, MS ????

Hi all. I shall start with my symptoms. A few days ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with tingling down my left arm and leg. I began to panick thinking it was a stroke or heart attack which of course didn't help the situation. After about 15 mins, the tinglng subsided and I put it down to straining something in my back or neck as I was carrying my twin 2 1/2 yr old boys in my arms and my 7 year old on my shoulders. The tingling has been on and off over the last couple of days and my over active mind has me convinced that its something much more drastic. Sometimes stretching stops the tingling but now its seem to be travelling to my right side. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms?

Just came back from the doctor and she said it doesn't seem to be anything serious. Basically told the doctor the symptoms and she completed a few strength, feeling and balance exercises and that was it. Said it may be due to the lifting I did however if the tingling doesn't subside within 3 weeks, to come back. She mentioned the symptoms of MS such as dizziness etc and surely enough, my body had gone into hyperdrive and believes I may have had dizzy spells......... I'm over it!

And my mind and body are at it again. Felt exhausted so had a 3 hour power nap, now the mind is off again. Worst thing I could of done was read symproms of MS and use the symptom checker, now I'm convinced I have it. Still getting tingling down left and right side (arms and legs) and sometimes on face. Has anyone had these before?

yes Robert. I had that when I was in my 20s+ a zillion other symptoms. I also thought I had MS but it turned out all of my symptoms were due to stress and anxiety. Symptoms caused by stress and anxiety can mimic those of other conditions like MS. Please don't Google your symptoms and here's why: somebody might be having chest pain and assume they are having a heart attack. However chest pain can also be caused by indigestion, hiatal hernia, stress and anxiety, gallbladder problems, back problems etc.
I had the tingling in arms and legs, Eye floaters, dizziness, vertigo which is the room looks like it's spinning and feels that way, severe weakness, ringing in the ears etc.
you can take just about any symptom and it can be associated with just about any condition.
dizziness can be associated with 1000 other conditions also that are not serious like anxiety,
of course if it continues let your doctor know. An MRIwould be the test to get. I had one also. The question is do you have a history of anxiety?
if so, that's the most likely explanation for your symptoms.
if you were caring your kids you could've easily pinched a nerve. Give it a little time to heal on its own. I think you're going to be fine.
in the meantime if you want to relax there are some great videos on YouTube for anxiety. They completely calm me down including my symptoms if I have any.
I am now in my 50s and even with all those symptoms I'm still here! But I have learned how to manage my anxiety way better so that I very rarely get any kind of a symptom and even if I do I just ignore it and it goes away.
let us know how you are doing! ??????

I have had issues previoulsy with anxiety. I have had bad anxiety attacks over work related items, but went and saw a psycologist and also my supervisors and was shown some calming techniques. I didn't seem to get the numbness like I currently am, it was only fatigue and that "fog" vision. The fact that the numbness/tingling came out of nowhere has rattled me.

Mind going off again. Had a chiro appointment and cracked my back, neck and hips. Felt good for the rest of the day and night then symptoms came back. Legs and arms now feel weak and now I'm thinking I have something else, does it ever end.....

I have had similar sx for the last two years- including the worsening at night. Have been to 4 neurologists, cat scan, 4 mri, 3 emgs— all clean and my neuro says he believes it’s anxiety. I believe it could be anxiety or some kind of wd effecr from previous medication (long term use of ambien—)I’ve been trying to address anxiety route but with little luck a doing c b t. Been offered anti anxiety meds but didn’t want to go down that route. But just know that I’ve had two of neurologists tell me that they see plenty of patients with pins and needles, paresthesia, etc that can be attributed to anxiety/ depression/ psych reasons— and not necessarily neurological disease. My advice is to rule out everything else and then do your best to address the anxiety. Harder than it sounds. Please let us know if anyone was able to treat their anxiety and resolve their sx.
