hi ,

I have posted on here before but i am really struggling, i have been on sertraline for 16 days but feel so much worst then when i started them. I wake up feeling very anxious and feel my heart pounding and really short of breath which last all day. I don't get how i can have anxiety all day long. I can no longer work due to my anxiety and health anxiety and struggle to think about anything but my health. My doctor has done multiple tests which all came back fine but when i get any sensation it just throws me. I am trying to do some meditating and repeating positive affirmations but its just very hard atm. I thought any side effects would have passed by now so i am doubting the medication is for me. It's just so so hard atm.

those medications can take 4 to 6 weeks to really kick in.

I understand about all the anxiety sensations. and sometimes they can last a while as I have had experience with this since my late 20s. I have also had them last all day. I just have to take one day at a time when they appear and it’s really important not to let your mind overthink because then everything can get worse. I know it’s easier said than done.

Have you had any counseling for this? it really helps to vent to somebody else who can help you. It’s difficult to do it all alone.

But just remember that you were checked out and you are fine. One thing to remember that any sensations of anxiety whether it’s a rapid heartbeat or other, it’s not harmful. It’s a huge rush of adrenaline.

One thing that will really bring down the heart rate is if you practice proper breathing for anxiety. It really helps to slow down the heart rate and you can find these short meditations on YouTube. Along with other ones for anxiety . Take one day at a time. Feel free to private message me anytime.
