Anxiety related IBS

Hi folks,

First of all apologies for yet another post!

Really struggling to shake this anxiety episode, thought I had a grip but hey ho.

Basically my docs and I believe I have ibs. I had a flare up a couple of months ago with the usual symptoms of constipation/soft/ diarrhoea. Slight aches tummy, wind and burping. At the time I was highly anxious but it all seemed to settle down when anxiety eased. But now my health anxiety is high again and I think I'm having another flare up of ibs but this time no diarrhoea ( yet fingers crossed ) passing a bm on average every other day or every day however I often feel like I haven't emptied my bowels fully and so the wind continues plus tummy cramping achey feeling like I've over done sit ups or something..plus feeling a bit bloated too. This has been every day for a week now but last flare up lasted about 3 weeks too.

Had stools tested last time oh and I had a pelvic ultrasound just before Xmas for another issue but that all ok tho the sonographer said she heard a bit of bowel grumbling at the time but wasn't concerned at all.. anyone else have similar symptoms ? Many thanks in advance :-)

Oh dear, will it ever end :-(

So now I'm getting diarreah and then a burning sensation after bm. Anyone else had burning sensation ?

    Totally and utterly fed up!

Ps went to docs this morning and mentioned burning sensation and my funny turn the other nt .. she didn't seem to concerned but asked for another stool sample ready for when I see my gastro specialist.

Sorry to be a nuisance and keep posting.

I once got a burning sensation while trying to pass a rock solid stool.  The burning disappeared shortly afterwards and did not come back.  I nearly gave up trying to release the stool in case I had hurt myself badly.

OK so no I'm getting really fed up and down about this now as it seems to be going on and on, can't control my anxiety at all and I had got such a grip of things with the help of my neuropsychologist ( who I'm still seeing ) but this ibs is scaring me so much.

The cramping is on and off every day despite having a bm most days. ( still feeling like I need to go again tho ) doc did an internal and said I'm constipated as. It going enough! The cramping is usually around abdomin and lower back ache ( which scares me )

I've had stool tests, blood tests, on the waiting list to see a gastro and I have an ultrasound booked for a couple of weeks but don't know how I'm going to get through the next couple of weeks, I'm always at the docs. Oh and this has been going on for about 4 wks now :-( I have been particulate anxious with regards to something else which I feel set this bout off.

Any advice would be good or just to hear other people's opinion

    Thank again

Oh and forgot to mention that I also usually get cramping after a bm too is this normal?

Abdominal pain and back ache are normal IBS symptoms so you don't need to worry.  You normally get temporary relief of pain after a bowel movement with IBS.  However, IBS is different for everyone and it may be how your IBS affects you personally..

Thanks pippa, I know I keep on about this but it's really getting me down and I just keep crying all the time,

It does feel every time I go to the bathroom that I could have done more. I also do think I have depression as I really can't cope when something throws me off balance like this.

I just want the old happy me back :-(

Anyway thanks again and have a good day with your dad now he is back I assume x
