Anxiety setback lasting 8 weeks

Posted , 3 users are following.

i felt well for 3 months after having 4 months off work after a breakdown last September 2020 and was doing fine

I then overdid it at work in late May 2021 and have had horrific anxiety for the last 8 weeks with stomach churning and brain fog making it nigh on impossible to work or even practice what i have learned. Anyone else had a setback lasting as long as it's really worrying me and any tips moving forward?

I am on 225mg venlafaxine

we all have to learn how to balance things out in our lives. The very most important thing is your physical health. If you don’t have that then you can’t do anything.

of course people need to work but we have to have the right perspective about it. It should not dominate all your emotions to the point where you get sick. Not worth it. I think if you were to talk to the right counselor they could help you manage all of this and get more balanced. sounds like you were throwing every bit of your mental energy into work.

there are ways to use your mental energy in a much healthier way. I hope you get the support so you can feel better!

sorry, I forgot to reply specifically to you and did to myself.

      my response is

pretty much 24/7, usually gets a little better in the evenings but often comes back at bedtime. i do not feel something bad is about to happen, mine is generally thoughts that I'm never going to get better and I dont have the patience to keep waiting for it to go so it spirals.
