hi
back again with something else (cos health anxiety sucks!)
ive had a few weeks of high health anxiety & general anxiety and today started back on meds (50g sertraline).
new years day night when i was in bed i was being woken up over n over by sharp pains in my chest n what i thought was me stopping breathing. i ended up going to a&e where everything is apparently fine.
ive just been sat playing playstation with my lad n they started again 😦 its kind of off to the left behind where my boob starts n like a sharp stabbing pain.
im trying to not let it get the better of me but really struggling.
anyone suffered similar?

I have been getting a lot of high health anxiety attacks. It all began when I was told I had a tumor on my liver and ever since then I have been anxious, worried and just a mess since I got my news. Now I am hypersensitive to any feelings in body and it starts to me worry more and get even more anxious. I have been trying to keep my cool, continue counselling, and meditation. I also started reading Unwinding Anxiety and got the App for it.

anxiety can cause all sorts of sensations including pain anywhere in the body. Most of these sensations are due to the release of adrenaline in the body when we have anxiety. when you feel this come on,
it’s important to practice proper breathing for anxiety to settle it down. One of the terms that is used is called mindfulness breathing exercise that you can find on YouTube. Proper breathing is the key to calming things things down. they also have some really great meditations for anxiety to calm down the whole body. Do these regularly daily and you should notice a difference.
its important to try and not overthink everything. That will also get the adrenaline going. Remember you’ve been checked out and everything was OK. Keep in mind that whatever we constantly think about will expand in our mind! Whether it’s positive or negative.just take one day at a time, try to stay busy, do your breathing exercises and the other meditations for anxiety, laughter and smiling go along way to help the body and brain realize that there’s nothing truly wrong. When you start worrying, your brain thinks something is wrong and it sends out more adrenaline. I do hope you start to feel better soon and take care.
