Need more info, Jake. How much have you been drinking? What times of day do you drink? (all day or just evenings?) How long have you been drinking excessively. What other symptoms do you get if you try to stop drinking?

I don't have any excuse apart from alcohol being in front of me in the breakfast room when I go downstairs in the morning. I've been told am not alcohol dependant but have been stupid over xmas. If it wasn't there I wouldn't go out and buy it. so wouldn't drink it.  Phoned support worker today who's been great. I've told told the family to get rid of it cause I cant

deal with it in front of me. I've got to learn to live with the anxiety because the only thing that helps will beat me. Lesser of two evils for me, I'll just stay anxious.

I suffer from anxiety too. It may be that this caused issues with drinking in drink in the first place. Your GP can prescribe medicine to help _ some anti depressants help with anxiety. Good luck

I really enjoy Single Malts, have them in the house all year round, but I have only had one dram of Jameson's, to help with a slight cold, this year. Bizarrely, my wife and i have an incredibly high tolerance of alchohol. She has two small Bacardi and lemonades on her one night out per week and I have spent many a long night in many pubs and drank no alchohol at all. I love the stuff, but only drink when I am thirsty and my sons and their friends love my easy company. A younger friend was in a black mood. His fiance' dumped him a week before their wedding day. We drank, according to the landlord, twenty pints of beer between 19:00pm and 02:00am and I remained stone cold sober as I watched over the youngen. I have enough sense to know that such high tolerance could very likely lead to my early death, so I am more respectful of it. I need my Liver intact. I do not smoke cigarettes and the only drug I touch is Aspirin. Anxiety is only a state of mind, but depression is a state of the brain. Treat both with total respect. Most antidepressants are dirrivitives of antihistamines, which are of themselves damnably dangerous things to mess with.
