has anyone with severe anxiety along with anxiety symptoms gotten the Covid vaccine?

if so, did everything stay the same or did your symptoms get worse?

I really want to know this too, been putting off getting my jab for weeks because I'm scared incase it triggers my panic again! X

I'm interested to know too, even though there really is no logic to this because that it happens or does not happen to someone else doesn't mean it will/will not to us, but that's what this anxiety is like

yeah that’s true. I just really would like to know if it will exacerbate symptoms I get in my head like the buzzing feeling, lightheadedness, vibrations etc. I definitely don’t need that to get worse. I have seen too many videos of that happening and it’s scary

Hi Jan, when i first got my vaccine 2 months ago i just had the arm pain and didnt have my anxiety but after the vaccine like a week after i started to get panic attacks but i believe i caused them since i started to look up things online which led me to like auto immune diseases and other things. My anxiety hasnt gotten better since i got the vaccine and i am still struggling to take away all the symptoms but i got scared at first that the vaccine made me super sick and that i was dying but hospitals and doctors tell me its my anxiety.

yeah it’s hard to tell if it’s just the anxiety or if the vaccine makes it worse. Difficult to make a decision on what to do with all the conflicting information. Thanks for letting me know!

i only got the first dose of the vaccine and skipped my second due to anxiety. at the time before my second dose, i was experiencing weird symptoms from anxiety so i was scared to get the second dose and experience the symptoms from that on top of the other stuff i was feeling (tension headaches, chest tightness, brain fog, etc.) to this day i still only have one dose but symptom wise, i feel better so honestly there's nothing stopping me now from getting it. i'm definitely just overthinking it at this point.

the first dose did make me feel a bit off. i had a headache and my arm hurt a bit, but it was nothing too extreme. a lot of people said the second dose was worse which obviously doesn't help with my overthinking.

My anxiety got much more intense after my first dose. I had anxiety before, but was completely functional. Few days after the vaccine, I started having unexplained panic attacks and serious breathing issues. I still took my second dose, and can't say the symptoms got any worse after the second dose. They just stayed the same. To be honest, I think my breathing symptoms will get better. I also don't know if the vaccine caused it. It could just be coincidence. My family doc and therapist said they haven't heard of the vaccine affecting anxiety. I don't even know how a vaccine could affect anxiety directly. The only way is if you are nervous about the vaccine (which I was not at all). Anyway, I do think this virus is awful, and I am so happy I'm protected. Anxiety can get better, but covid can leave you with some awful long term effects that I did not want to risk. I think my workplace will be mandating vaccines soon anyway. So overall, I had to get it. You should speak with your family doc and make a decision accordingly.

I have really high anxiety and I had Pfizer for both injections. The 1st injection I was super scared and within seconds I was immediately nauseous and that lasted a couple days but it was the worst nauseous feeling I had ever had. My 2nd injection was only slight nausea. I cannot say that this is related to the vaccine but within 2 months afterwards I was diagnosed with high blood pressure " something I never had an issue with my entire life" and I was also diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. My A1C was 6.6 3 months later my 2nd A1C was 5.7. I very well imagine that I had extreme anxiety during this time as well. I was the only one in my entire family to have any reaction to the vaccine. I think it just depends on how your body reacts to it. The other thing was I had an extreme reaction to 2 different types of new medication that ended up in ER visits which I've never had anything like that before. But I had a Dr tell me that in some people the vaccine had brought hidden health issues to the surface. So I can't say with certainty except for the injections made me really nauseous.
