I don't know much about those medications, but I'm curious,

Have you tried Anti depressants already?  What kind of anxiety do you have?  Because for me, anti depressants work for my GAD and panic attacks.

GAD and depression. Started after bad surgery outcomes, leaving me with blood clots and have to take warfarin now.  This does not mix with some anti deps and i dont know which ones to try next.

i think psych is suggesting antipsychotics at a low dose as he is running out of ideas.

I feel like you should be able to talk to your doctor to figure out which antidepresants do not interact with warfarin.

Also, there are many other ways to treat anxiety besides medication.  Actually TONS.

The thing that helped me the most was reading.  I picked up a book online about anxiety and panic and it has completely changed my perspective on it.  I am now about to deal with it better than ever.  I also do take meds, but I would say that the amount of information and motivation I got from reading was the most effective.  I recommend looking up a highly reviewed book on anxiety on the internet and buy it and start reading a few pages a day.

I have bought a book called Dare but am having difficulty reading it.  It also seems to come from the panic attack type which i am not. I am just totally socially excluding friends due to fear, dont know why. Having trouble seeing people due to anxiety.  I dont think its the same. Anyway i cannot get through it.  The ssris new dose has made it worse. I feel stuck.

Do you get panic attacks when you see your friends?  Or social anxiety, or just slight anxiety?  Because I have read DARE and it helps in all situations of anxiety.  It is the act of allowing yourself to feel uncomfortable, whether it be in a panic attack, or in a social anxiety setting.

Hi Ann, I took Olanzapine along with my anti depressants and it really helped. My psych took me off it a couple of months ago and I became unwell again. Defo you should try either. Neil

I only have unipolar depression so these meds seem a bit extreme.  Your experience seems to be a good one. Others on this site have told me do not touch antipsychotics if you do not need them as they are hell to get off.  Yours is the only optimistic one.  Can you tell me what you had which made dr give this drug?

Hi Ann, I had sever depression and anxiety, whilst these drugs are anti psychotic drugs they are known and have been proved to augment anti depressants and help with depression and anxiety, they worked for me. I had no problem coming off Olanzapine but it was at a time I wasn't feeling well so I relapsed, my psych has put me on another one called quietiapine as well as my anti depressant.

Yes i have tried queriapine with my anti dep.  it did nothing for me, then changed anti dep, still no better. Frightened to take olanz, what side effects did it give you?

Hi Ann, I had no side effects taking Olanzapine just a little tired that's all, best taken at night as it will help you sleep.

Which anti deps did you take this with which helped? My anti dep increase has given me migraine and i feel very down alongside nausea this week. I am scared to start olanzapine.

Hi, i am in a bit of a pickle.  I tried the anti deps for a couple of weeks and felt worse, very agitated and nauseous so didnt manage to add the antipsychotic. I just dont know what to do as i wake feeling so bad every day with or without med.  do you think i should try the antipsychotic to try to help, im so afraid it makes me worse again. Your experience seemed a positive one.
