anxious

I am 40 and was straining to go to the bathroom last night and I felt a bulge in my vagina.  I am assuming a rectocele.  I am so upset and don't know how or why this happened.  I am having such anxiety from it and so paranoid that its going to get worse.

what can I do to prevent that from happening?

Are you uncomfortable? Try to make sure bowel movements are soft! Stool softener. Try not to do heavy lifting, and go see your doctor,

Straining on the loo can cause your back wall to fall. Have you had any vaginal births as this is one of the main causes as we get older. I had no prolapse until she 41 which was when I started early menopause and low level of oestrogen. Don't worry hun ask your doctor to be referred to a urogynacologist. X

I don't have pain just a very akward feeling when I have a bowel movement.  I feel like I have to support myself to have a bowel movement.  I see my gyn tomorrow.  I was just hoping I was in a nightmare and this wasn't really happening.  I am a breast cancer survivor and I cant be placed on any hormones.  I have had to vaginal births.

I just now saw this comment. If you are “splinting” to have a bowel movement (help the BM come out by placing a finger in the vagina to help it come all the way out-such a glamorous explanationwink )..then I would think you probably have it especially after reading you’ve had 2 Vaginal births.

Have you had children? I would go see a specialist to see if you have a rectocele and they will grade it. I had a Grade 2. I am 17 days post op rectocele repair. I asked if you had kids because your chances are highly increased to have some degree of rectocele. If the place between the bottom of your Vaginal opening and rectum is thin and you had a firm BM it could have felt like a bulge. It’s always best to play it safe. Look in the mirror down there because you can see it if it’s bad enough. I could see mine sitting right at my opening. I also wasn’t enjoying sex like I used to. My 4th child was the cause of my rectocele. It was like it was numb down there. I hope the surgery will make my sex life better. Good luck and make that appt! If am here if you want to ask me anything. smile

It seems they all think you’re full of it Sannystac.  I’ve noticed several times you have been helpful and it’s goes unnoticed. Keep up the good advice! I read it and I agree. 😊
