Any advice?

I was diagnosed in May last year and slowly getting a handle on things but today whilst I was happy crafting I suddenly became clamy, shaky and my heart started to race. I was on my own so all I could do was try to stay calm until it passed. I've never had this before and to be honest it's shaken me a bit. Does this happen to anyone else if so how do you deal with it. Many thanks

I've had that happen a lot, I just sit down until it goes but sometimes the shaking can last a while. Have you been checked for iron levels? Anemia can cause that as can low blood sugar etc, I have it happen when I have eaten and I'm not stressed etc so I think it's more heart, hormone related by the way it feels is definitely like blood sugars have plummeted or a surge of adrenalin or something.

Go see the dr just to be sure but don't let them pass it off as a fibro symptom without properly ruling out other causes.

Do get it checked out, but I get a similar thing now and again, it's usually my cue to eat something sugary and sweet, or something anyway- it's a good excuse for chocolate if nothing else! Seriously though, I find that helps me, but please do go and see your Dr to make sure!

I will. I feel fine now. There are so many different things that come with this horrible condition

That is the trouble, I am never a 100% sure if it is something new or a different Fibro problem! I have also a query for Sjorgen's syndrome too, so not sure what causes what, and whether or not it is something completely different or not- I could almost be at the Drs daily, but I am not!! Thank goodness for forums like this I say! ☺️

I'm with you there. I've learnt more about fibro through my own research and this forum than the doctors have ever been able to give me

I usually find this is due to eating gluten by mistake. My body feels it is being poisoned! I have had Fibro for eight years.

    Yes yes yes.

I get it completely. It's a bit scary at the start as it feels like u could possibly pass out.

With FMS u can feel a whole load of different things. It changes the process of normal communication between brain and body so u can end up feeling adrenaline racing through ur body even if ur calm and resting. Sometimes I can get a feeling on my skin that I've been burnt but there is nothing there.

Look at Urr blood sugar levels and definately working on breathing to help with moments like yours. Hope this helps.

Hi Deborah; yes it is something tha we all have "to put up" (which I am getting so not liking),  ... but if you are concerned and the palpitations come again, it is wise to have this checked out (especially if you have other symtoms such as Shortness of Breath, and pain around the shoulders/arms/throat  etc).........the way that I used to stop the shakes/clamminess (and yes in the beginning I thought I was either going through Peri-menapause or Hypogylcaemic)...I would have a Very sweet cup of tea, and lollies............so yes, now I always keep sweets in my draw....something easy to chew (Snakes are my favourite, at present.....I'm like a preg lady here, in that I get Cravings for different types).............the other thing that you can try for the Palpitations is "holding your nose, and blowing hard against your nostrils....as trying to breath out through nose with extra pressure"........this can work for some........................I do believe that it has something to do with our hormones (?from our Thyroid)....but if too much adrenalin is sent to our AV node in heart, then this will set off Palpitations???...................good luck.......................Bron
