Any advice as to what shoes I can wear immediately after Darcos have gone?

I am 3 weeks post bunion surgery (both sides of both feet). I am looking forward to getting out of the Darco shoes. Will I be able to wear my own old, previously comfortable trainers or should I be ready with something new to wear when the boots come off at the hospital at the 6 week appointment? How much bigger should new shoes (trainers?) be? My recovery is going well but there is still significant swelling and i just cant imagine managing to put my feet into any shoes. Any advice would be very welcome.

    Hi

the trouble is after surgery nothing from your old feet fit. apparently to compensate for width we all bought shoes which were too long. nothing I had before surgery fits.

if you live in the north of England. crispin shoe room in Morley is the place to go or DB shoes also an English firm do shoes on line.

I've had both feet done now and I can't wait to by a pair of ordinary skechers. High heels I don't think will ever be on the cards, but they hot me into this mess in the first place.
