Do they have you on anything like Xanax? I am on Zoloft as well and I took a trip with my son to New York last year and I was terrified. In the end I had a blast and the Zoloft released right when I needed it too! As soon as I started to panick it released the anxiety medicine that's in it. Also I would request from your doctor a Benzo. Maybe Xanax just for the flight. I was terrified to fly and I actually enjoyed it. I just held on to my my son and just kept breathing. Try thinking of all the exciting things instead of the panicking! That is what my problem is I always think of the negative instead of the positive which is you are going to have an amazing time! Hold on to that!

Anxiety is horrible and the panic is even worse. I know I dealt with it all my life and I'm only 27. Panic attacks are horrible. The feeling that your having a heart attack because your heart is beating so fast just to realize that your heart is beating so fast because you stopped breathing. Trust that you will not have a heart attack. Always know that! I am also on the Generic Sertraline. I have been on Diazepam which is the generic for Valium. Works great. Just made me sleepy. Take that before you head out and you will be fine. Your body will try to panic and you will laugh it off. That's what happened to me when i took my Xanax. I remember the morning we were leaving I said, "I am not going".lol. If I was you I would try Xanax only because Valium sneaks up on you and Xanax is almost instant. Ask for the 1mg. They are Blue pills. They work a lot better than Valium. Just for the trip.

Awesome ! Almost the same age! Isn't it horrible to live your life with constant worry? My life use to consist of 85% worrying. Smh. I finally said I don't care about what happens in life I just want to be happy! I still have the panic attacks but that's just because sometimes I let myself stress! Try meditation! That works wonders for me!

Yeah I work for Chase Corp in Lake Mary Heathrow. In Florida. I've had social anxiety since I was sixteen. I got on medication and I was a social butterfly lol. My daughter was murdered by her nurse on September 26th last year. Her name was Gianni! She had cerebral palsy. The nurse turned off her machine and she chocked to death. Ruined me and my sons life. A year later we deal. My anxiety and panick attacks worsened. I took on meditation. It helped so much! As always you feel good for a couple of days and boom you panick! So I just say screw it if I'm gonna panick I am. Xanax is a godsend! It's absolutely the fastest working anxiety medicine. What about you?

Well if you ever need somebody I'm here! I know how it feels. I've taking a lot of leaves from work because of my anxiety. I wanna live life! I wanna travel and discover the world!! So baby steps till then lol. I have a different way of looking at life now.. Still doesn't stop the random attacks but it helps. I bet you feel like you have been through hell and back and you're so young! I feel that way all the time.

I've just been on holiday and it was an anxious time. Last time I went on holiday I was ill nearly all holiday because I was away from home and went in prepared. This time was different. I had a diazepam as soon as I got up. And sat doing a puzzle book for nearly the whole journey. It helped distract my mind. When I was away and felt like crawling back to bed with anxiety I forced myself to get out and take a stroll. Or do my puzzle book. Again this distracted me. Diazepam was there on hand for any times I felt I would need like day trips. Hope you have a good time. X

It does get better with time, took me at least 12 weeks to notice a difference

I'm 31 and been on and off propranolol for 10 years. Trying sertraline for a change and have appointments sorted for a psychotherapist. Feel so helpless and just want to be normal...whatever that is. Unfortunately for us all we are our own worst enemy.
