Any advice on over the counter sleep aids

Posted , 7 users are following.

Been battling a lingering depression for sometime now and having trouble sleeping.

Seeing a physc on Wednesday for the first time who I hope will give me meds to help sleep.

In the meantime, does anyone have any advice on over the counter meds which will help me sleep.

Melatonin and Valerian Root, don't seem to do anything for me.

Good news! It isn't addictive, either. Phenergan, which you can buy over the counter, also help. The third one which would probably help is generic chlorphenamine.

But DON'T take all three together, ok?

Hope things go well with the psychiatrist. Please come back to this discussion and let us know how you are. Love Tess

So I brought a Walmart brand of liquid sleep aid. Like Beniladryl, except no anti-hestimin.

Woke up twice and drunk more.

Guess that was a mistake. Feel like crap today. Been trying to sleep more with the hangover feeling, but no such luck.

Maybe look into sedatives in place of sleep aids

Seeing a physc tomorrow and will request them. Hoping they don't make me dance for them.

Oops! Even over the counter meds have to be taken at the correct dose, Dan.

What you took didn't have such a good effect as the benadryl BECAUSE thereis no antihistamine in it. Antihistamines make you sleepy and they're not addictive. If the benadryl worked, take it again.
