PPPD is Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness. You can look it up on Google or the VEDA website. It is believed that those of us that are pre-disposed to anxiety have a harder time recovering from Vestibular Neuritis. After 2 months with continuing symptoms most now recognize the need to incorporate an SSRI into the treatment. The body has normal sensations that as we grow up we simply learn to ignore. Minor adjustments a slight sensation when we do something tha we don't normally do, etc. With VN the sensations are magnified because the brain then becomes focused on them. This is magnified with the anxiety component and it then becomes a vicious circle. The SSRI is the drug of choice to help to alleviate the focus on these sensations thereby allowing the body to heal itself. If you Google PPPD there are some really good discussions about this. Also, look it up on Youtube. There is a 45 minute interview on there of an audiologist at the Mayo clinic and a vestibular physical therapist. Their names are Neil Shepard, Ph.D. and Janene Holmberg, DPT. Really good interview that discusses the issues related to PPPD.
MAV is Migraine Associated Vertigo. It is assumed that migraines can contribute similar symptoms to VN in creating vertigo and other motion related issues.
There are no tests for these conditions. Just like everything with the vestibular system it is a process of elimnation. If one has normal test results from the standard VN tests, these may be the actual condition being experienced.
Hope this explanation helps you to better understand.

iI relate to symptoms pppd also.
specialist put me on SSRI ( Cipramil ) - it didn't help
I'm taking migraine care ( a tablet brought in health shop) suggested also by vestibular specialist - no result but I'll try anything.
My list of help sought is massive. I have lost 100% vestibular function and hearing on one side. Life is so difficult I've considered having my head removed :-) lol
i have done rounds of VRT exercises but yoga, water aerobics, walking has helped.
Talking to a phsycotheropist to help deal with this card.
