Any good coping techniques

I'm a 24 year old female. I've had anxiety symptoms since I was a child. It began to worse when I hit about 12 years old. Around that time I began seeing my general physician about my problem. After years of trying new medications and coping techniques I had no major improvements. My symptoms are racing heart, irregular heart beat, sweating, shaking, hot flashes, and thoughts about my impending doom. For a two year stretch I wasn't having any symptoms aside from the occasional bout however they are coming back now. Nothing in my life is new or has changed so I'm not sure what to make of it. Is there anything out there that can make a significant improvement for a sustained period of time when it comes to anxiety?

I can’t think of any medication that makes a significant improvement with anxiety

I have also had anxiety since childhood .  It’s hard to treat medically, so I had to find ways to manage it. Doctors can prescribe medication but it’s not a cure. It just temporarily relaxes you.

So I decided I first needed a strong and healthy body and immune system to fight off stress, so I began working out several times a week.

I ate healthier, included dark greens and more veggies in general.

    Cut way back on sugar

Started listening to meditations for anxiety, negative thoughts, fear and proper breathing technique on you tube.

I find that I can deal much better with anxiety and I am stronger than the anxiety now .

The key is good health and a calm mind.

it’s not one thing but A combination of things in managing anxiety 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

There are medications out there though to help improve anxiety. But the key to overcome anxiety sometimes is just allowing them to be there and be OK with it. They will go away they can’t hang around forever and if they are hanging around for a really long time and that means that you’re focusing too much on them. My advice to you would be exercise try medication and be totally passive to your symptoms of anxiety.

Thanks everyone! I do have the tendency to linger in my head alot haha. I'm pretty inactive aside from my work so I think putting some time on the treadmill is going to be my first step. I've always delt with it by keeping my mind busy with other things 24/7 so I don't "feed the beast" but you cant keep it up forever I guess

Hi, are you on any medication? I have similar problems and I too struggle to cope with it. I have downloaded some free anxiety apps that I listen to, if nothing else they tend to help me sleep. These forums also help, to know you’re not the only one and to be able to talk and get advice from others that suffer too puts your mind at rest just a little

No I stopped taking medication three years ago. It generally did nothing or made my anxiety worse. I do have sedative as a break glass in case of emergency type of thing though

Try EVERYTHING!!! You never know what might work for you, just because it doesn't work for someone else. Look up anxiety coping skills or techniques. I myself have not had much luck with anything but I still keep trying new things just in case something works.
