Any good suggestion to cure my sister's SLE?

Posted , 6 users are following.

My sister has a terrible Systemic lupus erythematosus for years. She has taken many kinds of medicine , but it seems they didn't work. And they even influenced her kidney. Could anyone give me some suggestions or advise any good medicine to help with it?

I wish I had an swer Snowy. My Lupus also affects my kidneys. I've had to have a new mitral valve replacement. I won't bore you with all the details. Suffice it to say I have just about all the associated problems that come with S.L.E.

I'm intolerant of all the medications that may help and as you are probably aware there is no cure.

I depend on my diet a lot.Chicken, fish, turkey, sweet potatoes, plenty of veg. On the odd occasionwhen I do eat badly my body lets me know.

Keeping positive helps. I always say I have Lupus but Lupus doesn't have me.

I agree, positive thinking helps,it's really hard, but try to carry on with life as normal,as you can, especially if medication isn't working for her, don't let Lupus get the better of you, good luck, remember there's a lot of us out there when u want a chat.

"I have Lupus but Lupus doesnt have me" i like that.

Always support your sister. She really needs support and love from people around her, family especially. That's always make me feel better than my medicines do.

I also have SLE, unfortunately there is no way to cure Lupus. But you can put it in remission for several years. There is a type of Chemo therapy call Rituxin, this type of therapy is for leukemia patient's. But the Rituxin can put the Lupus in remission If antiphospholipid antibodies are present in your sisters tuple of Lupus.
