Hi everyone, I really don't know how to start this question but I guess what I'm asking is could I have fibromyalgia?

For a few months.now.I have been experiencing on off bizarre pains in random parts of my body but more so under my arms and the back of my shoulders sometimes these pains are sharp and short other times they are longer and a dull ache. I have also been suffering for a long while at night with painful aching legs but just recently the pain has been worse and more frequent my arms ache right through to the bones, feel so heavy, sometimes it feels as though my muscles are in spams and I have had pins and needles very much like carpal tunnel syndrome which I had thought 3 pregnancies. I feel pain in my throat in my chest my ear, neck and for the first time the other night my jaw. I have a Dr's app later as my friend who's mother suffers with this feels my symptoms are VERY like her mother's has urged me to but as a mum of four children who needs to work full time I am terrified of what she might tell me xx

Hi... Please do not be afraid to see a doctor. All that will happen is you will get a diagnosis of what is going on and from there you can get treatment. I am not a doctor by any means but what you have described is almost to the tea of how I feel. I was diagnosed with fibro 4 yrs ago but I believe I had it long before that. I have a cocktail of medications that I take but I was able to function and work up till April of 2011 when I was in a bad accident and my fibro went through the roof. So please do not think of a diagnosis of fibro as the end of the world because with proper treatment you can function with a normal life.

    Take Care

Thank you everyone I've been and the Dr was so lovely, she has said everything I have described does sound like fs but I am going to have blood tests done to rule out infection etc and she has prescribed my antidepressants which I have had in the past and she does not want me to become depressed again and I have an appointment to go back in 4 weeks just to check in and see how things are going x
