any herbal remedies to help with anxiety?

Is anyone taking any herbal remedies to help with anxiety? I don't like taking medicines at the beat of times but with health anxiety I worry what they're doing to me but am a fan of herbal / homeopathic remedies. I've seen lots of suggestions on the internet but wanted to try something that works

    Hmmm interesting question..

I remember someone mentioning St Johns Wort is a natural remedy for depression and/or nerve/anxiety disorders .

Slightly different angle but still under the heading of 'Natural Remedy' (non-medicine) would be the following I guess:

    Meditation ...

    Massage ...

    NLP ...

    CBT ...

    Whole Food Diet ...

Worth consideration amongst other possible non-chemical/drug interventions...

    Much peace

I originally tried 5HTP and it worked great for me for awhile but then stopped working as well.

I now take inositol, magnesium, b complex, and a daily vitamin. Some days are better than others but I am currently in the thick of things right now. Trying to change diet and lifestyle. I also do CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) and guided meditation (videos on YouTube). I also practice deep breathing. smile

I'm the same, therapy will probably be a better option, no natural remedy can resolve anxiety issues - no med can either for that matter

I have been using Rhodiola Extract because a lot of anxiety is linked to a failure of the adrenal glands in the 'fight or flight' response.

Niacin B3 is always a good one to take!

There are natural serotonin and dopamine supplements available which is what I use but I'm not at home so can't look at brand at present and I'm in Australia so it may not apply anyway wink

I have found acupuncture to be really helpful especially if the practitioner reads energy and treats emotions.

Some of the crystals that lift spirits or calm the mind could be good to wear or slip in your pillowcase (please for anyone who is inclined to tell me I'm full of it with the crystals just give it a rest cause I just couldn't be bothered to argue with you!)

Lemon balm tea is meant to be good for anxiety and depression.

Thanks everyone. I'm currently having CBT but my counsellor is off sick so I've not been for 7/8 weeks and although I thought I was making progress I'm starting to slip with my negative thoughts.

Will have a look at those herbal remedies tomorrow. I'll try anything at the moment
