Any idea?

About 6 months ago I noticed some redness, very tiny pink bumps, along with dry and wrinkly appearance that had developed around the coronal ridge of the glans which is more noticeable during an erection with no pain, itching or discomfort whatsoever. I had an STD panel done four times since February and HSV testing as recently as early June and everything has come back negative. The first doctor told me he thinks it could be some form of fungal infection and the other doctor who looked at it most recently suggested it could be HPV but went on to say he seriously doubted it for a couple of different reasons and told me he honestly thinks it's nothing to be concerned over. I had tried applying petroleum jelly, then skin moisturizer, and finally clotrimazole (Jock Itch creme) just to see if there would be any change but to avail. What should I do? Any suggestions as to what is going on?

I am having the same thing. The glans is shiny when erect, and becomes red (patches) after masturbation. The natural lubrication is reduced. Petroleum jelly helps temporarily.

I am looking forward to consult a urologist if this starts bothering me.

If the doctor says to you that is nothing serious, then you have little reason to worry.

I've got an appointment scheduled to see a urologist in the next couple of weeks, I just hope I'm not wasting my time over this. If get an answer regarding this I'll make sure that I update this post.

what your urologist said ? ur problem resolved?

Honestly nothing has changed. I did see a Urologist and I relayed the information about my concerns onto him and he replied by saying after looking at it "Well, if your STD results came back negative and if you can enjoy intercourse with no pain or discomfort I would have to say there isn't anything to worry about, it appears normal."

My most recent partner had been tested and examined by her Gynaecologist which also turned out fine. So I haven't thought about this much since honestly but I still do wonder.

Yup...the problem is most people thinking everything as a disease in this internet world... The spots which you have is nothing may be a yeast changes... even the yeast gone ... but the skin change caused by will take time to disappear... relax and keep the area clean and dry always

Nobody else has any opinion about this?

any trigger point when this started? I have had lots of problems with my glans after receipt of unprotected oral sex.

Honestly, mine didn't appear like this until after I had oral sex with my ex-girlfriend but as I had stated to another user above I had been tested at about 3-4 weeks after my last encounter with a different woman and those results came back negative, as well as her own. It's only noticeable during an erection for some reason and it doesn't cause any pain, itchiness or discomfort in general so I don't know what else to say or do about it. I'm considering going for another STD test since it has been 6 months since the last time I had sex and about 5 since I was last tested. Maybe just to help get it off my mind once and for all.

OK so I had this and figured it out if it isn't gone by now. The most common cause of a rash on the penis is tinea cruris (jock itch). Its a fungus and can be brought on by merely wearing tight underwear and sweating a lot. The symptoms of how it feels vary (mine had an odor, itched, became scaly (flakes of skin, red under the flakes with a shiny appearance) later progressed to a small burn when peeing.

The odor came first and I just kept taking showers and trying to get rid of it because there was no visible reason for the odor and its a hard odor to explain, nothing else smells like it. But you will notice handling the penis will leave a faint odor on your hand. This symptom I put in its own paragraph because some may not notice or may not have this symptom.

How to fix it, AFTER I got the scaly skin I could identify it, I lived with it until then for a little time, I did nothing so I could figure it out. So I didn't just throw stuff at it, because if I did fix it then I wouldn't have known what was the causation of it. Anyhow I went to Walmart and picked up athletes foot spray, it is the same fungus and happens for the same reason. The active ingredient is Tolnaftate 1% and is found in a lot of those types of sprays, the cheap equate brand has it in it so its a 3 dollar fix.

How to tell that was really the problem: when you spray it you should feel a little sting and even if it isn't itching, it should itch a little after you spray it. I also sprayed the inside of my underwear so I could remove the possibility of transference of the fungus to the underwear and vice versa. This part should be immediate. The rash is now faint and so is the odor and I will continue until its gone (this stuff is NOT instant so you have to be patient).

How long before starting to see the rash fade? It took me around 3 days before I noticed it started to work. I hope this helps as I know its a problem literally everyone finds embarrassing, so if you can resolve it yourself then its ideal. Good luck and I was really surprised no one mentioned that fungus with it being so common and it is highly contagious making it extremely easy to get.

i also have had this same issue and its driven me insane for the past 6 months! i had gotten tested and everything cane back negative i had unprotected sex multiple times with a female and it appeared well over a month after we started hooking up so i was a bit hesitant on the fact of it being an STD i tried cream for yeast infection which did help some but never completely resolved it. after stopping the creams i used petroleum jelly which did help immensely! but still there are red spots that keep coming back and i am in the gym alot and i do sweat a ton so i assume it has something to do with a fungus
